This past fourth of July 2008 I went with my wife and my two kids to Miami on vacation and before checking in my hotel we went to eat breakfast at Don Pan International bakery located at: 700 Crandon Blvd., Key Biscayne, FL 33149 ((305) 361-8388). When I got the receipt I was shocked to see a balance of $74.28. The breakfast was good, but I consider the prices to be excessively high. I will give you a summary of everything we ate and its prices.
Papaya smoothie-$4.00
Pineapple smoothie-$4.00
Strawberry and papaya smoothie-$4.99
Serrano ham sandwich-$8.50
Chicken sandwich-$7.50
Chicken arepa-$4.80
Ham and cheese sandwich-$6.99
Small cup of water-$2.50
Cheese cachapa- $6.30
Palmier pastry-$1.90

I don't know if all the Don Pan bakeries in Miami have the same prices, but in my opinion I will never visit a Don Pan bakery again because I have never paid that amount for a dinner, when this was simply a breakfast.
If you plan on visiting a Don Pan bakery ask for the prices before ordering, since they don't have them posted anywhere.

El pasado 4 de julio del 2008 fui con mi esposa y mis dos hijos a Miami de vacaciones, y antes de registrarnos en el hotel fuimos a desayunar al Don Pan International Bakery localizado en: 700 Crandon Blvd., Key Biscayne, FL 33149 ((305) 361-8388). Cuando me trajeron la cuenta quede sorprendido al ver el balance de $74.28. El desayuno estuvo muy bueno, pero considero que los precios son exesivamente altos. A continuacion un desglose de todo lo que comimos con sus precios:

No s si todos los restauranes de Don Pan en Miami tienen los mismos precios, pero en mi opinion no pienso volver a visitarlos pues nunca he pagado una cantidad tan alta en un restaurante por una comida, cuando esto fue simplemente un desayuno.
Si usted piensa ir a visitar un restaurante de Don Pan pregunten primero por los precios antes de ordenar, pues no se especifican los precios en ningun lugar.

First, I've been there. It's actually a nice bakery in a *really* nice location...
Then, what they serve: these aren't bagged danishes or egg mcmuffins were talking about: serrano ham is the spanish prosciutto, along with fresh baked pastries....now I know that a pre-prepared sandwich at the major coffee chains is about $7-9 too..
Second, Five sandwiches, Four pastries, Three smoothies. It's enough for 6 adults... the total food and beverage without tax and tip came to like $58.
Smoothies, and meals for $10 each, in an exclusive area of the Florida Keys. Ejem, Normal.

You stated thay don't have the prices anywhere, yet they obviously had menus(because you knew what to order). If by some chance the menu's did not have prices you should have asked if you had any questions.
But even IF the menus did not have prices and you had no idea how much anything was the prices seemed quite reasonable. You also did not just order breakfast, but 3 sandwiches as well as 3 smoothies along with the several pastries.
There does not seem to be any ripoff here.
