My husband took my car to Done Right Auto in Severville Tn for front brakes....a special price they said $39.99 also had them look into an electrical issue with the heater blower motor. They said they would call with the problem on the blower motor and an estimate. They did hold true to their word on that one thing. They called and said that they needed to run a diagnostic it would be $58...my husband gave the okay for that and they said they would call when they found the problem with the blower. When they called back again, they said the diagnostic told them it was loose wire. I have since spoken with several mechanics and they said that the diagnostic would not have shown them that and they should have done a physical inspection first to find the wire...either way, they didn't so now $39.99 + $58 + whatever they wanted to charge for the loose wire and then on top of all of that they informed my husband that the CV AXLE was busted and that it needed to be replace...He had a cow, and said he didn't have much money. My husband explained that he had only $400 and that he couldn't pay more than that and if it was going to be more that he would have to have the rest of the work done later. The owner told him "no problem". My husband went later that afternoon to pick up the car and was handed a bill for $547 not the previously agreed upon $400...he asked what happend to the $400 and was told that it's $547 and thats what you pay if you want your car. No explantion...I have the receipt and it has so much scribbling on it...other mechanics have looked at the receipt and said we were over charged for the work they did by at least $150 and that the brakes they put on were so bad that we would have to have the changed soon. Also, they did an oil change and my car has never ticked but now the engine is ticking so taking the car to another shop in town to see what happend with that. These people are not of their word and were holding my car until we paid a bill that wasn't agreed upon in advance and overcharged us for shotty work...I will be following up with this one. A shame that a local company has received so many bad reviews for underhanded business practices for doing others the same way they have done us. I wish I had taken the time to research them in advance. Beware of DONE RIGHT AUTO IN TENNESSEE...they have more than one location...RUN FAST AND HARD AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! Oh and they don't take credit cards...I now know why, you can challenge a charge from them on a credit card when they pull this kind of stuff.
