I am the owner/manager of a travel agency on long island. I am a registered business in suffolk county. I booked a donna franca tour for clients, highly recommending this tour company. My clients traveled in March of this year (2003). For the most part, they had a very nice time but did have some problems with transfers and unsatisfactory hotel accomodations which they themselves are attempting to address with little success. part of their problem with donna franca tours concerns the fact that what they received was not what was advertised in their brochure
beyond the problems my clients encountered, i was to be paid a 10% commission on a booking of well over $4,000.00. to date, i have not received this commission even though i have sent two requests to ms. donna franca, directly... she has chosen to ignore me as well as the fact that she owes me this money.

Hotel Bonvecchiati Venice & Transfers Claim

Clients travelled on an independent vacation which included the Hotel Bonvecchati in Venice,
a four star property situated near St. Mark's Square. www.hotelbonvecchiati.it . Clients were
assigned a standard double room which is what they paid for. We verified with the hotel management concerning the customer's claim and was informed that without any explaination they decided to check out of the hotel. The management offered them a complimentary upgrade to a superior room and they refused. Our local agent who assisted them with their arrival transfer overheard the couple complaining about the Hotel Bonvecchiati before even getting there! We replied to the travel agent on April 24 2003 and sent a copy directly to the customer at their request on Nov. 12 2003.

COMMISISON WAS PAID TO THE AGENT!!!

I am responding to the agent's claim that we did not pay her an agency commission when in fact we did do so. The agency making this claim, Paradise Travel, is listed under two different cities in the New York area. One in Bayshore and one in Brooklyn. The commission check was inadvertantly mailed to the Brooklyn location.
After our accounting dept. researched on the agent's claim that commission was still due, the
original check was voided. Also our records indicate that Paradise Travel/Patricia did indeed cash the check. Any interested parties should contact Leo Locke @ Donna Franca Tours.
