My first encounter with Mr. Finney was back in 1999. He contacted me over the internet, I am assuming after having read my profile, and discovered that I work in emergency services. Mr. Finney identified himself as "Chief Doug Finney" and claimed to be the Chief of Service of a staffing company, which provided EMTs and firefighters for special events, out of Ridgefield CT. I found this puzzling, as I personally knew the chief of the fire department at the time, and had never heard of Mr. Finney's "company" before. Mr. Finney was persistant in wanting to meet me in person, as well as employ me as an EMT. He sent me a "job application" on his companies letterhead, and wanted to know things such as my financial information, drivers license, and social security number.
I did some asking around and research on the guy to find out that he has a long history of writing bad checks, and scamming people out of money. His scam attempts usually involve police, fire, security, and emergency medical services. Mr. Finney has never held any level of EMS certification, has never been a police officer, has never been a firefighter, has never delivered a baby, and has never been a security officer - all things that he has claimed to have done. He likes to drive vehicles that resemble police cruisers, and purchase equipment such as two way radios, scanners, light bars, medical supplies, and uniforms to further enhance his charades.
The last I had heard, he was picked up by a CT bail enforcement agent in Yorktown Heights NY, on several outstanding warrants. Upon his capture, he was found to be in possession of police and EMS equipment, as well as child pornography. He has been found guilty of all charges in CT, and I know has multiple charges in NY as well. Do not do business with this person, or give him any of your personal information.
