I would not recommend Dr. Greg Greenberg of Dallas, TX as an orthodontist to anyone. I had paid him up for full for orthodontic treatment including the cost for a retainer and to remove my braces. Then before I ever received a retainer or had my braces removed, he sent me a letter stating he did would no longer treat me. However, he refused to reimburse me for the retainer I had already paid him for and for the cost of having my braces removed, which I had also paid him for.

I had to pay another orthodontist $250 to remove my braces. I sent Dr. Greenberg a letter along with the bill for $250 I had to pay the other orthodontist and requested reimbursement for a total of $560. This amount included the $250 and $310 that I found Dr. Greenberg had charged me up-front for a retainer that I never received.

He responded with a letter stating he would not reimburse me. So he basically cheated me out of $560.

I have filed a complaint against him with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and would strongly urge anyone seeking orthodontic treatment to steer clear of this crook.

Greenberg, I see your post in response to my initial post.  You are lying and you know it.  You stole money from me by ending my orthodontic treatment early (your choice) in order for you to pocket money that I had already paid you in advance for services and a retainer that I never received.  I requested that you reimburse me for these expenses but you refused.  The State Dept of Dental Examiners did not "dismiss my claim" as you stated, they said it was a billing issue even though they were concerned about your business "practices". It was something they did not handle.  Somehow you got the BBB not to report this claim that they should have.

Your statement that the treatment was to last 4 months is totally false.  You had said my treatment would take about one year and maybe longer; I have this in writing from you.  It took longer than that because of you, not that I "dictated additional treatment for 14 months".  You never said my treatment would take only four months.

If you would do the work yourself (changing out the archwires), instead of having your assistants do it, it may not have taken 14 months.  I paid for you to do the work, not some little girl that just got out of high school.

I really like your last paragraph; "The goal at our practice is to work together with you to build a beautiful smile".  Your goal is to line your Jewish pockets by sending patients a letter, cancelling treatment after collecting all the money up front.  Then you don't have to spend anymore time on them and you can pocket the $310 you received for a retainer that you never had to deliver.

Response from Dr. Greenberg DDS

AUTHOR: Dr. Greg Greenberg, DDS - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 18, 2009

We, at Dr. Greenbergs practice, appreciate the opportunity to share our response to the review. In this situation, we completed treatment for the patient in 4 months. The patient continued to dictate additional treatment for another 14 months, even after we informed him that his treatment was complete. This patient then disappeared for 12 months, refusing our phone calls and letters. He did not respond to any of our attempts and in fact even refused to pick up our second certified letter from his mail box. We informed him that we could not be held liable for problems he might have from leaving braces on his teeth without supervision.

After we legally released him from care, he contacted us another 12 months later wanting us to pay for retainers and braces removal. Yes, he did pay for 4 months of treatment, which actually turned into 14 months without any additional charges.

As for the Better Business Bureau I appealed his complaint and the BBB found in my favor and rejected his claims. The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners also dismissed his claim.

I hope this information has helped give everyone the whole picture. The goal at our practice is to work together with you to build a beautiful smile. If you have any questions, please contact us at the information above.

--Dr. Greg Greenberg, DDS
