I purchased a DR Power Field and Brush Mower, with a 18.5 horse Kawasaki engine and a 30" cut. Online the videos showed the mower taking down 6ft grass with not problem and spreading the cut grass out evenly. With my experience the mower struggles to cut 1.5ft grass and will wind-row the cut grass to the point it will kill the grass underneath it.

After about 5 hours of use the mower would not start. Since I work at a equipment dealer I am familar with troubleshooting so I was able to troubleshoot the machine with the help of Dr. tech support to determine the solenoid was bad. Dr. is sending me the part but it will take 5 to 10 business days to arrive.

I became disappointed with the product when the performance was mis-represented but was willing to live with it until the machine began to malfunction. The next issue I have is that it takes so long for replacement parts to come back in. This time of year with the rains, there are only a few days that you can run this unit. Then the grass gets too large and I am going to have to rent a tractor and brushhog. I bought this unit mainly to keep from using a tractor and now after almost 4,000 dollars I am still going to have to spend more money to rent a tractor.

When I contacted DR. about returning the item they stated that since I purchased it from a dealer I would not be able to return it. This amazes me since that is not mentioned anywhere on the website and was not mentioned to me by my dealer.

At my dealership, we put the customer first and do what we need to make sure they are happy. It seems with DR. their main goal is to sell the product, then not really worry about it afterward. In my experience if a company has policies like the non-returnable item when bought from a dealer, they probably have a good idea that there will be problems with the unit.

My family has Dr. Power equipment and have always been happy. I am disappointed on how I have been treated and since I am in sales and talk to alot of people everyday, I will make sure everyone knows about DR. Power Equipment's policies and quality, if this does not get resolved at my dealer.

I am currently in contact with my dealer to determine whether or not I will actually be able to return it or not.
