Jan 29th, 2007 My daughter got her braces on
The following will be in my daughter's point of view. This blog will be updated monthly when she gets her braces tightened and her teeth get straghter.

5-23-07 (Wednesday, May 23, 2007) This guy is rude!
I hate my orthodontist so much! I'm glad he isn't my dad! His staff is really mean and rude! It all started when I got into the office. I went and the usual happened. I have a tooth that is very far back. There was a space being opened for that tooth. I felt that the tooth can move forward now. When he looked inside my mouth he said that my teeth are not the cleanest he went with me (this is the ridiculous part that you won't believe) and grabbed the toothbrush and brushed really hard he also put me in a headlock. I felt my braces and my teeth were going to fall out right away (they didn't, whew). So my mom gasped and thought that we needed to make a report and report him to the state dental board right away. I was about to cry. I wondered what this guy was thinking. I was scared.

Next, my mom asked if I have made progress in any way. He paused for a second or two and said with disrespect that it was like watching hair grow and said it would take 2 years for my teeth to be straight (said that at the beginning) (trust me they always lie about that stuff). More like 2.5, I think. I wanted my teeth straight by the summer before high school. I don't think it will take me that long. It might take my brother 2 years or maybe 2.5 years though. He said my teeth didn't move at all, basically. I saw that one of my teeth did move forward.

I feel that that tooth will move forward in 3-4 months like my other tooth. He said a few other choice phrases like: Stop jumping around, you are making us have a hard time! You can be miserable for 1.5 years (I think if it is 2 years that it would be 1 year 8 months. I am in advanced math), I'm not touching your gums where it hurts (my gums dont hurt) (I'm sorry if I jump around I am scared of him).

I think in a few more months my teeth will be pretty close to straight. They really aren't that crooked. I will post pictures of my teeth and show you they really aren't that crooked. I am really mad. I want him to go out of business. I could see him going to the streets being poor. Say good bye to that Jaguar, coach wallet (your wife's), rich house, stocks, business, employees, everyone's business, your license, your timeshares, house on the shore, and all of those years of studying. Hs life will go downhill. What goes around comes around, dr. motherwell! Go anywhere but there if you are moving to dfw area ok? He definately doesn't deserve his high school degree. If you dont pass high school you cant go to college or get to be a doctor. i always wonder whenever I go there, 'Why me?' what did I do to this guy?'
One of my theories that can't be true is, that almost every patient in that office is blonde or has light brown hair. I have dark brown/ black hair, medium skin tone, brown eyes, and 5' 4" tall. I am of more than one race. Maybe it's because of my accent, some people there have a southern accent, some other accent I can't recognize, or no accent, I have a "Chicago" accent, I was born and raised in Chicago. I did not grow up with country music at all (I grew up with Spanish music, hip hop, pop, rock, and more). It is kind of annoying that they always play country music (I like some country music). He is much nicer to blondes rather than me. I will tell you the truth, if I could I would keep my mouth shut and breathe through my nose. I'd not show my teeth when I smile (I do) I'd only open my mouth when I eat, or when it's necessary. I would hardly show my teeth at all. I'd never talk and learn sign language. I am talkative at the right times so that's why it's hard. Sometimes my teeth, mouth or tongue hurt really bad. I would love to hide in a box for the rest of the 2 years.

I am kind of miserable still, I actually would rather have invisalign or something like that done, i heard from my cousin that it doesn't work or it takes forever. I feel that is true for braces too. I would not like crooked teeth for the rest of my life either. I still eat things that they say i'm not supposed to eat like: bagels, carrots, celery, pretzels (hard), apples, marshmallows, pizza crust, hard candy (jolly ranchers, mints, lollypops), popcorn (caramel, kettle, buttered), cheetos, and doritos. And I still chew gum. occasionally.

The last thing I'd say befor I leave the office is, good-bye dr. motherwell and staff, good riddance, see you in well, never! I'll be very happy in 1.5 years really! Well only 1 year and 8 months to go! And I will never see him and his staff again :)

AUTHOR: mariah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 15, 2007

Here is my apology letter, Dr. Motherwell will receive one in the mail soon:

Dear Dr. Motherwell,

This is Mariah and I want to say a few things. First, I want to apologize for what happened. I never meant to harm you or your business. And if I did, Im so sorry.
The Apology
I am very sorry that I made that Rip off Report about your business. Honestly! I swear on my grandmothers grave that I am sincerely sorry. My father asked the Editor of www.ripoffreport.com to remove the report, but my father got a sassy response that basically said that they wont remove the Rip off Report because Our policy to never remove any report protects consumers. I never knew that ripoffreport.com worked like that. So, I decided to send this letter to ripoffreport.com as an update to take back everything I said that offended you or your employees or even your patients.
Please Sir, dont file a lawsuit against my parents. They knew nothing about that. If I can do anything at all to make it up to you, please tell me. I will tell the complete truth about me and going to your office, and that the things that I said about you are 100% FALSE.
FYI: This whole situation is tearing me apart from the inside out. I am so stressed. This issue is taking over my life. I am not a bad person. I am a really nice and smart person. All that I want is Peace between you and my family and wish that I had a remote like in the movie, Click, where I could make this situation never have happened.

Again, I apologize for what I did to you and your orthodontic practice.

Sincerely,

Mariah

Motherwell: has he been treating me better?
IDK.
Heres what i did:
Spoke in a Canadian accent. Yes for you people who don't think that Canadians have accents, here are some ways i spoke:
Word: Way it's pronounced
Out - Oat
About - Aboat
Sorry- Sore E
Process- Pro (in professional) cess
grades (term) Marks
8th grade grade 8
Z Zed
Either I-Ther
Huh? Eh?
route Root (not in a chicago accent where it sounds almost like "rut)
Aunt On-t
I didn't go out of character 'cause I have flash cards
I feel treated differently. Maybe he knows that I am from chicago and he could tell that the accent is fake.
got to go,

ok you are right about something

AUTHOR: mariah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 05, 2007

hey, you are right about some thing. "you said that dr. motherwell has many patients that are mixed race or a different race"
you are right.
me and this other girl.
i went to dr. motherwells office and i saw him treating an Asian girl badly. I don't really remember what exactly happened. but i remember that he made her time in braces a lot longer and was not making her treatment go any faster. so i just proved again that he does not treat kids of more than one race or a different race well. he doesn't treat them the same. I felt that that girl was ready.
Picture this:
There is a blonde girl (with blue eyes) from Texas she goes to dr. motherwell. Then there is a girl who is of more than one race (black hair, brown eyes) (from the north) who goes to the same Dr. They both get their braces on at the same time on the same day. They both have similar maloccusions, and bites, so lets say that they both need braces for 2 years. They both cooperate with the doctor and his rules pretty well. neither of them broke a bracket. they also wore their rubberbands and removable appliances when they were supposed to. 2 years later, The blonde, Texan girl got her braces off. The girl from the north still has her braces on for no reason at all. she keeps asking the ortho guy why any longer? Her teeth were truely ready. Dr Motherwell never treated her right. She had to have 6 more months of braces for no reason. (I feel that i might have to have braces longer than I really need to, how can i trust this guy) please help.

Thank u very much grateful patient. it did help. ru going to 8th grade? like me? at dms? in southlake?
-thanx 4 the advice
(mariah)
I will comment on your comments :)
[FYI- you having moved from Chicago to Southlake has nothing to do with getting braces] ::it might has something to with my accent::

[Was the bracket coming off not a newsflash? They have those rules or suggestions for a reason.. it could delay the process. Also, those food are bad for your teeth (with braces) and they can damage your teeth, so the orthodontist can tell]
::FYI the bracket fell off in my sleep (i swear) yeah i know::

[it is what braces are for, I was making a point that he didn't take them off just because it had been two years, they were ready]
::tell me something i don't know. you pointed out the obvious::

[honestly, if you were thankful, you wouldn't be having an issue].
::I want straight teeth:

[They have the metal type, but I only have to wear it at night now, and if you don't wear it, your teeth could potentially go back to the way they were. Ex: Most adults these days had braces as children, but many of them have crooked teeth]
::METAL RETAINERS ARE SO 1980s clear ones are so cool::

[Sorry to 'burst your bubble' but it's not going to happen]
::I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW::

[If you brushed your teeth well, Dr. Motherwell wouldn't have (as you claimed) put you in a head lock just to brush your teeth]
:: i do brush my teeth well, I take 5 minutes!!!::

[Your aunt being a dentist has absolutely nothing to do with it])
::i know:: ::i almost made it into NJHS. I got a 94 class average::

[It's not your decision on what type of music there is, the staff (who has to be there all day) should be able to choose]
::i want 2 bring my ipod::

[If I may, copy from your original post: 'Sometimes my teeth, mouth or tongue hurt really bad.']
::my mouth NEVER hurts::

[What does any of that have to do with 'no one's perfect'?]
::i want him 2 know that I am a smart person with special needs::

[Why not 'all the time'?]
::you don't have to follow the rules all the time to not get in trouble::

[I wonder why brackets have fallen off, I wonder why Dr. Motherwell seems frustrated.]
::THEY FELL OFF IN MY SLEEP::

[No, well not when I got my braces off, It's been almost a year though, so it could have changed.]
::no it didn't::

[Then why don't you do it?]

::my cousin hilary chewed gum while she had braces. I don't like peanuts::

[When you click on the link, you will see a picture, I apologize. In my during picture, I have a chain and yes, that's to help space the teeth correctly.]
::I am smart!!! I don't think I'll need a chain, rubberbands maybe::

[She obviously got her braces off a year early because they were straight, not because she didn't brush her teeth properly, and you'd think that she'd have cleaner teeth, considering her mom's a dentist. (?)]
::correction, her mom isn't a dentist, her mom is my aunt cheri. My aunt that is a dentist is Aunt mildred. no her teeth are kinda crooked, and they are dirty, kinda::

[That is none of Dr. Motherwell's business and also, quite frankly, not his problem. He shouldn't have to treat his patients differently just because they feel that they are better or more special than everyone else. I am sorry about your grandmother, but that also isn't his problem.]
::well, if he knew that he could use it in a good way. i have adhd (a little)::

[He doesn't have to treat his staff well, he didn't HAVE to hire them.. He has many mixed racial patients or patients of a different race.]

::No he doesn't have patients of a mixed race, i can tell by looking at them. Does he have any other patients that are Hispanic (Venezuela), African American, Jewish, Native American (South America)? I don't know. But I know somebody who is a patient and is all of those races... Guess who? It's me, Mariah (no, don't ask me about a bat mitzvah or anything, cause i didn't get one. (I will be having a quinceera(?) in 2 years (is that how you spell it?)) And I think that all of his staff do not have a mixed racial background::

[I wasn't at all offended, I personally like country music, but I wasn't mad about that. I was trying to say that it's not in your control.]
::ok::

[Your grandpa, sol, also has nothing to do with the situation]
::i know::

I am not really one to fight (i am a pacifist (one who won't fight)), I would just like to share something with you that my dad told me. I am telling you this sincerely, it's not a joke. You really need a purpose in life, and once you find it, it's like a finish line in a race.
::I have a purpose in life! I want to be a very successful Real Estate Agent (also to be RICH)
I do also want to be the Valedictiorian in the highschool graduating class of 2012. I am VERY SMART:: ::"the distance" by Cake playing in the background::
If you look at the other people in the race, you'll swerve and not reach the finsh line because you're distracted. (If you let other people get in your head and really offend you by their actions and words, you'll find yourself losing sight of your purpose).
::I am a born leader::

If you look at your feet when you're in the race, you'll run slower and some people actually fall flat on their face. (If you concentrate on other things besides your purpose, you will never complete it.) But, if you keep your eyes on the finish, you'll run in a fast, straight line and win. (If you focus on completing your purpose, you'll never lose sight and other people will not affect you).
::thanks 4 the advice::
The only reason I'm sharing this with you is to help you, I don't want you to keep wasting your time on what other people think, do, or say. See, if you keep your eyes on your purpose, you won't even notice these things.
::I don't think about him 24/7. I think about my future 99.9% of the time::
My dad shared this with me because I had trouble with other people's actions towards me, and they were completely unintentional, but I lost sight of my purpose. Your purpose can be anything, from wanting to be a veteranarian when you grow up to making straight a's next year.
::thanks again. I love EXPENSIVE THINGS::

I hope this helps.
Grateful Motherwell Patient
(it did)
::your teeth changed. :) they are straight. He did a good job for you. your teeth in the b4 picture werent that crooked. But i'm still worried about me, he could ruin my teeth and use the wrong appliances at the wrong times, even though i don't think that i need other appliances, but what do i know, i'm not a dentist. I am more successful than other students in my grade because I don't date, I stay off myspace, I study, have fun, and am serious at the right time, and VERY COMPETITIVE in things that I'm good at::

here you go;

AUTHOR: :) - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 22, 2007

For your information, Mariah, I am also 13 years old.

I apologize in advance for the picture issue, I tried to use a regular internet code but it [obviously] didn't show up.

Here is the direct link: tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6bw57cn

You can copy/paste into the address bar.

Well this might be a long one, I will do the same to reply to both of your responses. My comments will be in brackets.

First one:

Hello Grateful motherwell patient,

If you didn't know already, my name is Mariah. I am 13 years old and moved to Southlake Texas from Chicago Illinois. I am happy that u responded. :) I will copy your report and put my comments in parentheses. [FYI- you having moved from Chicago to Southlake has nothing to do with getting braces]

Well, I got my braces through Dr. Motherwell and had them for two years straight. (I will need braces for 2 years also, my teeth aren't that bad)

I got them on in the beginning of my 5th grade year and then got them off in the beginning of 7th. (I got mine in January 2007 and they will be off by the time Bush is out of office (jan. 2009)

My teeth are perfectly straight now (isn't that what braces are for?) [it is what braces are for, I was making a point that he didn't take them off just because it had been two years, they were ready] and I am so thankful I ever got them on (me 2 but I don't like dr. motherwell) [honestly, if you were thankful, you wouldn't be having an issue]. Yes, it did take 2 whole years to get them straightened (i see). I thought for sure they were 'fine' after two months (i can't wait till there off). All i had to do was cooperate. I wore my rubber bands when I was required to (i haven't had rubberbands yet, but i think i will need them), and I ate the foods I was supposed to eat and I stayed away from the ones I was supposed to (I eat popcorn (caramel, kettle, butter) Chew gum, eat apples, carrots, broccoli, snickers, chocolate, my teeth are clean and only 1 bracket fell off). [Was the bracket coming off not a newsflash? They have those rules or suggestions for a reason.. it could delay the process. Also, those food are bad for your teeth (with braces) and they can damage your teeth, so the orthodontist can tell]

If I hadn't cooperated, I would probably still have them on now (how old r u? Just curious). [I will repeat myself, 13]

And now, I wear my retainer every night (I hope that dr. motherwell has the clear type of retainers. i hate the metal type). [They have the metal type, but I only have to wear it at night now, and if you don't wear it, your teeth could potentially go back to the way they were. Ex: Most adults these days had braces as children, but many of them have crooked teeth]
You have to eat the right foods or else the process will be delayed and it will damage your braces which could potentially damage your teeth.

Getting braces isn't just about 'getting your teeth straight', he also tries to perfect your bite (which is where the rubber bands come in) (I think I have a slight overbite. I know about the bite too).

Here's a picture I put together of my teeth before, during, and after.
(Umm... what picture?) (I don't see one) (sorry 2 burst ur bubble)

It did not happen over night. As I said before, it took 2 years for me (you said that a lot). [You also repeated yourself, many times, and then your dad came and said the whole thing again]

It is like, 'watching hair grow.' (I wish I had the click remote so I can fast forward to January 2009) [Sorry to "burst your bubble" but it's not going to happen] My brother had to get his first set of braces from him and he hated brushing his teeth but he had to do a much better job with braces considering that it is much harder to clean your teeth and easier for you teeth to get plaque and gross.
(I do brush my teeth well) [If you brushed your teeth well, Dr. Motherwell wouldn't have (as you claimed) put you in a head lock just to brush your teeth]
If you are a difficult patient to work on, then they might have a little less patience and tolerance with you. If you jump around and talk too much when they're trying to work in your mouth, they might get frustrated. (you would, wouldn't you? (My aunt is a dentist) [Your aunt being a dentist has absolutely nothing to do with it])

It sounds like they were nice when you came in 2 hours late. Honestly, if it were me, I would have been mad and had you reschedule if we were going to have to cram you in. (Unless, of course, we had no one else there.)

He doesn't judge people on their appearances. There is more then one member of his staff that isn't 'blonde haired & blue eyed' and he treats them like everyone else. -- Please do not complain about the music they play in there, atleast they play music (I come from Chicago and I don't know any thing about country music (it's ok) I'd rather have no music to be honest, hey can I listen to my iPod in there?). [It's not your decision on what type of music there is, the staff (who has to be there all day) should be able to choose]

My braces did hurt at times (not for me really) [If I may, copy from your original post: "Sometimes my teeth, mouth or tongue hurt really bad."], but look at the after picture (what after picture).

--It was worth it. All you have to do if it hurts is take 2 advil and get over it (i'm afraid to take pills). [Take a liquid Ibuprofen, or Motrin]

I'm not at all saying that Dr. Motherwell is perfect, no one is (i know, I am an honor roll student so I know that) (I learned to read when I was 3) [What does any of that have to do with "no one's perfect"?] . Everyone has their days... He was very nice to me and my family. I thank him for all that he's done with my teeth (i Would say good riddance 2) .

I am not really one to fight, I would just like to share something with you that my dad told me. I am telling you this sincerely, it's not a joke. You really need a purpose in life, and once you find it, it's like a finish line in a race. If you look at the other people in the race, you'll swerve and not reach the finsh line because you're distracted. (If you let other people get in your head and really offend you by their actions and words, you'll find yourself losing sight of your purpose).

The only reason I'm sharing this with you is to help you, I don't want you to keep wasting your time on what other people think, do, or say. See, if you keep your eyes on your purpose, you won't even notice these things.

My dad shared this with me because I had trouble with other people's actions towards me, and they were completely unintentional, but I lost sight of my purpose. Your purpose can be anything, from wanting to be a veteranarian when you grow up to making straight a's next year.

I hope this helps.

For your information, Mariah, I am also 13 years old.

If I hadn't cooperated, I would probably still have them on now (how old r u? Just curious). [I will repeat myself, 13]

Hi Grateful Motherwell patient. :)

Hello Grateful motherwell patient,

If you didn't know already, my name is Mariah. I am 13 years old and moved to Southlake Texas from Chicago Illinois. I am happy that u responded. :) I will copy your report and put my comments in parentheses.

My teeth are perfectly straight now (isn't that what braces are for?) and I am so thankful I ever got them on (me 2 but I don't like dr. motherwell).

If I hadn't cooperated, I would probably still have them on now (how old r u? Just curious).

And now, I wear my retainer every night (I hope that dr. motherwell has the clear type of retainers. i hate the metal type).

It is like, 'watching hair grow.' (I wish I had the click remote so I can fast forward to January 2009) My brother had to get his first set of braces from him and he hated brushing his teeth but he had to do a much better job with braces considering that it is much harder to clean your teeth and easier for you teeth to get plaque and gross.
(I do brush my teeth well)
If you are a difficult patient to work on, then they might have a little less patience and tolerance with you. If you jump around and talk too much when they're trying to work in your mouth, they might get frustrated. (you would, wouldn't you? (My aunt is a dentist))

My braces did hurt at times (not for me really), but look at the after picture (what after picture).

--It was worth it. All you have to do if it hurts is take 2 advil and get over it (i'm afraid to take pills).

I'm not at all saying that Dr. Motherwell is perfect, no one is (i know, I am an honor roll student so I know that) (I learned to read when I was 3). Everyone has their days... He was very nice to me and my family. I thank him for all that he's done with my teeth (i Would say good riddance 2) .

Thanks for your time. (you too) :)

June Update! 6-20-07

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 20, 2007

June 20, 2007
Dear Loyal Readers,
My daughter will tell you what happened:
I just got my braces tightened and you know what that means, I get to update my blog!
What happened, Mariah?
Nothing really. My bottom teeth are very messed up and the wire on my bottom teeth isn't really working. So it got changed, hopefully that will work! And there will be enough space for the tooth so it can FINALLY move forward! I came 2 hours too late. I cooperated MUCH BETTER!
I need to lose 2 of my baby teeth.
Hey Mariah, Can you list the future events?
Sure!
June: Nothing!
July:
3-8th: I will be in Chicago but I can still update but not as much.
16th: I will post my pictures and update with a blog posting!
Isn't that great that they didn't treat me so badly considering that I came late?
Bye! I'll update on the 16th!

I read you comment and I understand COMPLETELY what you are saying. But why would you keep going there and giving him YOUR money? He is mean to my daughter.

My son will definately not get any orthodontic treatment there! His teeth are way worse than my daughters! My wife has a relative that is a dentist and she is coming next weekend! I'll see if I can get her opinion, she has a daughter that has gone through braces 3 times! Her teeth are SO PERFECT!
Did you 13 year old need any appliances besides the braces and did they hurt? If so list them and list if he/she had pain while having them on
Does Dr. Motherwell tell you what appliances you will need?

Hey, Nicole

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 17, 2007

Dear Nicole,
Thank you very much for replying to the report. My daughter will explain the WHOLE story.

Calendar view
August 2006- Mom's friend recommended dr. motherwell
January 2007 - Got braces on
February 2007- braces tightened
March 2007- braces tightened
April 2007- braces tightened
May 2007- braces tightened and decided to file ripoff report
June 2007- Nicole replyed to my ripoff report
6.17.2007- I am replying to that report

Future events:
6.20.2007- braces tightened and file update
July 2007- I have had my braces on for 6 months. Post picture of teeth
July 2007- braces tightened
8.1.07- my birthday!
January 2009 - I get my braces off (supposedly)

Story:
May 2007 - brush teeth, sit in chair for a long time, get wire taken out and clear rubber thingys out, brush teeth and floss, Dr. Motherwell escorts me to the sink and puts me in a headlock (it's true! just ask my mom!) and brushes really hard, puts back wires and clear thingys, mom asks if my teeth are moving, dr motherwell says with sass "it's like watching hair grow, told my mom it will take 1.5 more years for the teeth to move. nothing has changed" tells me that if i wanted to be miserable for 1.5 more years or not be miserable, I plan my report.
I would love to hide in a box for the rest of my 2 years in braces and keep my mouth shut. Dr. Motherwell is blind! My teeth have really moved in the right direction. My top teeth are straight except for 2 baby teeth that didn't fall out yet. My bottom teeth are straight except for that one tooth that didn't move forward yet.
But why is he so mean to me?
1. my accent 2. my mom's accent 3. my mixed racial background 4. my hair color 5. my smartness 6. Me being in CM in school 7. I am hyper and proud! 8. My eye color
Assuming that all of the 8 above reasons are real reasons Dr. Motherwell hates me, then, I would dye my hair blonde, don't speak there, I'd not do any thing that shows my heritage (like talk about being forced to go to Hebrew school), dye my hair blonde, not show my smartness, not mention CM, sleep through the appointment, get blue contacts (if I weren't afraid of putting things in my eyes).

CHOOSING DR. MOTHERWELL AS MY ORTHO WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN INVISALIGN THROUGH ANOTHER ORTHO!!! Dr. Motherwell is more inmpatient than my grandpa, Sol! If he only knew what I was going through. I have had my grandma, Hope pass away due to cancer and dr. motherwell is treating me like dirt! If he doesn't like his job then why can't he quit?
Nicole, I have a few questions for you:
Is Dr. Motherwell nice to your children?
Do you think that my ripoff report is true?
How long has Dr. Motherwell been practicing?
Why do you think that Dr. Motherwell is mean to me?
Do you think that my theories are ture?
If not, why?
Do you think that Dr. Motherwell likes his job?
Thank you for responding and offering feedback
Sincerely,
Angie aka: "mariah" Thanks 4 understanding
James,
-her dad

#2 Consumer Comment

My family has had a GREAT experience with Dr. Motherwell and his office.

AUTHOR: Nicole - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 15, 2007

I have a 13-year-old daughter who went through the 2 year process of braces, etc., with Dr. Motherwell and his staff. My 11-year-old son has just been through Phase I of the process, and we'll definitely go back for his full set of braces.

Dr. Motherwell and his staff were always professional, prompt, and courteous with me and my children. In fact, Dr. Motherwell was very straightforward with us about the options for my son (including WAITING vs. doing Phase I which was purely optional & cost around $600) whereas another orthodontist we had consulted insisted that my son NEEDED Phase I (to the tune of $4500!).

We chose Dr. Motherwell because he was the only orthodontist in the area that took our insurance, but knowing what we know now, we'd go to him regardless.

Dear Readers,

Please do respond if you do have something to say! :) My next appointment is next week so if you really can't wait until I update again, please do click the rebuttal button and leave your comments.

My goal of this rip off report is to inform you of this business being mean to me (and me only). I still don't know why he treats me worse than everybody else. Here are some of my theories and explanations:

T: My accent. E: Some of his employees have a southern accent
T: My hair color. E: He tends treats kids with lighter hair colors better.
T: (The real one) I am too nervous and do not follow his directions:
E: He hates my guts because I jump a little bit because of the tools that they put in my mouth (reflexes)? I don't open my mouth wide enough either. I will try to follow my directions and see how it goes. I have a few words for this guy:
If you don't like your job then quit! Would you rather be making good money and be miserable or not make as good money and be happy, the choice is yours! If you are working with kids, you have got to have patience! Their parents are paying you to get their teeth straighter! Your reputation could be ruined because of a bad experience. So give these patients respect! These people are putting money in your pocket! Don't put anybody in a headlock and treat them like dogs (like you did to me). So hear me out!
Peace out! Thanks 4 reading!
