This doctor claims to use a combination of New Age, Chinese medicine and regular Western medicine in his practice. He maintains a high-profile practice in St. Louis including a column in a local New Age monthly paper and local seminars which he uses to attract many patients. It all sounds OK but when I actually went there here is what happened: a virtual army of assistants put me on an assembly line process (very unlike any chiropractor or alternative healer I have been to in 30 years) that was painful, confusing, involving MANY tests that he charged lots of money for but in many instances gave bogus or confusing results (when challenged on this he maintained "they sometimes worked" but refused to refund my money for the bogus tests) and a general atmosphere of NOT LISTENING to any patient concerns. I went in there with 3 specific health problems - my concerns went in one ear and out the other and he diagnosed or tried to treat only 1 of them - with a schedule of drugs, supplements and "homework" procedures that were both VERY complex and very expensive - I walked out of the first visit with a bill of $700 - and projected that by the second visit alone I would have spent $1500. Plus he recommended probable dental work that would have run $4000-10,000 - referred of course to a trio of dentists who actually take part in his weekly seminar as part of his referral network. This looked like an endless abyss and I decided to pull the plug as soon as I got home from the 1st visit - he refunded my money from the supplements I returned and the even more far-out tests not done yet but refused to give me anything else from the first visit even though the tests came out wrong and I was not listened to and was mis-diagnosed. I am now out $405. I called him and discussed these issues but he was VERY hardnosed. Let me repeat - none of these behaviors are ANYTHING like what I have experience in over 30 years of alternative practioners in all the areas he works in.

Dr. Yu, The Best Doctor I Have Ever Used
AUTHOR: anonymous - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, August 04, 2015
I would like to refute what the complaint against Dr. Yu was about. I have been a patient of his for 5 years and he has helped me tremendously--as a matter of fact, he has helped me more than any other physician I have used over the years. Yes, going to his clinic is not inexpensive and yes, he requests various tests. However, he will spread these tests out over time if a patient so desires. It is up to the patient to let Dr. Yu know what he or she is able to afford financially, not the other way around. Patients also have the right to not take the tests recommended, so I suggest to the complainer that he thinks about taking responsibility for his life and not try to blame the doctor for his recommendations.
If it had not been for Dr. Yu, I would have experienced atrial fibrillations and high blood pressure for the rest of my life, and would have been on medications to try to combat these symptoms. Up until the time I experienced these symptoms, I had never had a heart problem in my entire life--74 years of it. Dr. Yu was able to isolate the problem and told me it was likely due to a dental problem and that the problem would most likely be resolved once I had the dental work taken care of--no guarantees, but that was his recommendation. He referred me to an oral surgeon who could handle this. I had the surgery done and the heart problems went away and have never returned. I am no longer on any kind of heart or blood pressure meds, or any other medications for that matter. For the person who made the complaint against Dr. Yu and stated that he had some kind of "pact" with dentists that he referred people to is absurd. Yes, he knows a few dentists who can handle the kinds of procedures he might recommend, but EVERY doctor knows other doctors to whom they will refer patients. I happen to use one of the dentists that Dr. Yu recommended and I absolutely love him and his holistic approach to dentistry.
Also, I have visited Dr. Yu many, many times over the years because I am interested in maintaining a life style without illness and I am extremely grateful to him for the tests he has recommended and for the subsequent treatments he recommended as a result of these tests. Were these tests and recommendations costly? Yes, but unfortunately most insurance policies will not cover the procedures that Dr. Yu recommends, even though they WORK! It was worth every dollar I spent to regain my good health. Most people my age are on multiple meds and not feeling very well at all. I, on the other hand, feel great at the age of 74 and have lots of energy and vitality and take no meds--only a few supplements.
I believe that Dr. Yu is WAY ahead of his time with the kind of medicine he practices. For the most part, most doctors "manage" illnesses by prescribing drugs, many of which have devastating side effects (some of which I experienced when they had me on blood pressure meds--these drugs put me in the emergency room twice before I had the dental surgery that took care of the problem).
Dr. Yu looks for the cause and for that I am eternally grateful. God Bless him and may he continue his work for many years to come.
Now, I would like to address the complainer's coments here.
First he said that a "virtual army of assistants put him on an assembly line process". On every one of my visits to Dr. Yu, one and only one assistant took my blood pressure and oxygen levels, weighed me, and then escorted me to the room where Dr. Yu would then atttend to me.
He referred to the tests that Dr. Yu recommended as "bogus". Well, it was as a result of these so-called bogus tests that Dr. Yu was able to get a handle on what was going on with me and made recommendations accordingly which I followed and the results paid off--I felt a 100% better.
The complainer referred to the "homework" procedures as being "VERY complex and very expensive." I'm not sure why he felt they were complex. All of the instructions I received were very clear. The supplements I received were expensive, but they worked and I didn't take them forever.
I might also let the reader know that Dr. Yu treats patients from all over the world, even as far away as Australia! I think that speaks LOUDLY of what a great doctor he is. People do not travel that far unless they have a good reason to do so. Every person that I have met that uses Dr. Yu as his or her physician has had nothing but praise for him.
Perhaps if the complainer had followed through with Dr. Yu's suggestions, he wouldn't have such a negative opinion of his experience.

Dr Simon Yu Saved My Life
AUTHOR: Energy Medicine Practitioner - ()
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, July 09, 2014
It is very distrubing to me when people make claims against Holistic Practitioners who are helping people heal!
We live in a quick fix take a pill mind set world and when someone "spends money" their problems should go away tomorrow. And when they don't, we become discourged very quickly and jump at the first chance to point fingers and call someone a "quack, or ripoff".
I am a practitioner myself and going to Dr Yu, was the best thing I have ever done, he is brilliant behond his years, he is intutitive, he understands the human body in ways our Medicially trained Doctors would only dream of becoming.
He spent 25 years as a Millitary MD, and has been all over the world and has incountered infectious diseases from every walk of life.
You better hope he does not retire from his current position any time soon, this man is attempting to train our Medical Doctors in this country to understand "Energy Medicine" and if he retires, this country will be at a great loss!
So if you listen to this man who went to Dr Yu and is horribly disappointed, shame on you!
81% of people in this country, still believe that taking a drug or having organs removed or worse "chemo and radiation" is the way to fix their health issues, so it's no surprise that when a brillant Doctor working with Energy Medicine is put under a microscope of negative comments.
Lets face it if "Energy Medicine" is the correct way to heal the body, then that will make a lot of people "wrong" and no one wants to be wrong!
Going to preventive healing center and spending thousands of dollars to restore your health may not be for everyone, but my health is worth more than money.
So if you have been to Doctor after Doctor and getting no where and have no quality of life, I recommend seeing what Dr Simon Yu has to say before its too late.
