I brought my daughter to Dr Skip with the understanding that she was a professional who was well versed in her field. The circumstances that lead me there will go unmentioned. I assure you my daughter was in need of help. After handing over $80 per 45 minute session and almost three years for her to sit and play with play-doh and color with my daughter, my concerns witch involved the mother of my child and her poor decision making abilities, I was blatantly ignored.

Unable to hide my emotions because of the gravity of the situation and the benefit of the doubt given to her mother who did everything she could to villainize me, as to avoid taking responsibility for her choices, Dr Skip Himelstein refused to look deeper into the issue and flat out dismissed documentation I was willing to provide. At the end of all this we ended up in court and Dr Henrietta Himelstein was served a subpoena on behalf of the mother of my child.

When asked questions detailing how I "acted” towards her she expressed in detail how I shouted at her and was aggressive in my body language and so on. When asked questions about the specific concerns I raised she conveniently couldn’t remember as to avoid taking responsibility for her lack of action. You don’t need to take my word for it but the way I was raised, a man does not under any circumstances address a female in certain ways. My daughter is the most important thing I will ever do, and it is my life’s honor to become better every day as to set an example.

Dr Skip is a mandated reporter and unless she was unable to recall certain information would have been held accountable. If someone has made the choice to enter a field of expertise that requires them to protect a small human being who NEEDS their help because they face potentially dangerous circumstances, then they need to be prepared to stand up for what is morally correct, no matter what. At the end of the day I was successfully able to persuade the court to allow for a change of therapist.

Your child will face many more issues if you do not choose wisely the "help” that you seek. If the parent or individual on the other side of your situation is truly manipulative and constitutionally incapable of telling the truth and in your heart of hearts know this inside and you are seeking results, I urge you to keep looking and do your research. Not to be rude but if her goal was to solve the issue, then at her age she would have more work then she could handle. There are many people in that field and others that really have no business being there. Take your time and find the right one because it is your child who matters most.
