My mother signed up over the phone for lessons for my grown cousin for a Christmas gift. She paid the $300 with a credit card. When 2 months later it became evident that my cousin was not going to go take the lessons my mother called and asked for a refund. They said nope...no refunds. No one said anything about this when she freely gave them her credit card to make a payment otherwise she may have thought twice considering this was a surprise gift for someone. After she called them we started looking around on the internet and found that they have done this to a lot of people. Not only that but because all of there instructors are contracted employees they state that they are not responsible if the instructor is late and you will still have to pay for the whole time. It says you need to block out 5 hours for every 1 hour you are scheduled for incase the instructor is late. Another thing they dont tell you is that these lessons are group lessons so they are getting paid by someone to sit in the back seat while another student drives (that I found out be reading other peoples posts.) So I would say stay away from them they are a rip off company.

I have worked here for a while and have seen refunds issued in cases within reason

AUTHOR: Cynthia M - ()

POSTED: Friday, January 10, 2014

It is funny to see some of the negative complaints by some consumers who are so eager for a refund.  First of all when a student enrolls for getting a permit, there are specific guidelines we have to vouch to for the student to get their permit and license that states they have completed and online course and done behind the wheel training.  Its funny how some consumers try to get the services, and then try and ask for money back after they have already used the initial services to be issued a permit and then try to illegally drive.  Its like going to dmv and getting your registration fees paid, and getting the stickers, then going back a month later and asking for your money back, but you already have the tags in your hand.

Im sorry but i know the economy is tough out there, but for consumers to post lies and mis portrayals of the facts is sad and wrong and i wanted to take the time to tell the other side of the story.

I have seen in some instances refunds actually have been issued, to sincere and genuine people, very seldom does refund request even come in.  However, if they do, they are evaluated and determined if the student acutally recieved services and a permit.

Its sad where in this case this the complaintant is simply user "consumer manipulation" tactics to try and take advantage of a company and once again post very inaccurate information. Ripping off companies, insurance agencies, banking agencies, etc, and taking services, then trying to go and get money back later, after you know you have truly recieved the service and been given the oppurtunity to use your services is sad to see and shameful.  This is not at all an accurate portrayal of what really occurs and if a refund is due to a consumer and not a manipulation of the consumer, the company has always been open to issue a refund. It seldom occurs, however, I can say first hand that the company renders the services and always puts customer service first with the consumers.

People manipulating businesses should stop and appreciate the services rendered and offered.

Consumers are never turned a way for services and refunds may be issued providing there is a valid reason for the refund.

AUTHOR: Cynthia M - ()

POSTED: Friday, January 10, 2014

Services are always rendered to the consumer and scheduled upon payment.  If a student chages their mind and wants a refund it will alwas be considered, poviding the file has not gone beyond 90 days and their have been no,"no shows"on the consumers behalf.  If the file is beyond the 90 days period, the services wil still be rendered to consumer and file will be held for three full years.

In this case the student was scheduled for sessions and did NOT show up on the scheduled days.  Whe a student doesn' show up, there is a rescheduling fee due of$50. If the  student calls in advance to reschedule there is no fee.  In this case the no show fee was even waived as a one time courtesy, and then the next session student still did not show up.  We never withhold someones monies if services are no rendered and scheduled and used.  It is sad that the comments made by this consumer are posted, as well are very inaccurate.

Poor Customer Service

AUTHOR: YOLO - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, November 19, 2013

These people have poor customer service. I've worked with them, however, they don't know how to work with the customer. First off, it's not right to have a "no refund policy" because people won't always be happy. Second, if someone calls well ahead of time to reschedule, it isn't right for them to call 11:30 the night before to reschedule. An adult should have priority over 16-year-olds, right? They avoid any communication with the customer unless it's last minutes. And they threaten to take me to court to cover their sorry a**es.

The consumer is a liar and just trying to make her mistakes the companies

AUTHOR: JenniferT - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 16, 2011

I personally have watch many of me and my friends go through this driving school and this customer is a friend of a frined of a friend and she is known for causing drama and always trying to make people look bad for there mistakes. I just wanted to take the time as a consumer who has been very satisfied and watched many of my other friends with great service that if you ever contact the school, they are very kind and fair and giving to there customers. It is definitly 99percent lies what this consumer wrote, i only know because of third party talk and i and too many of my friends have gone through the company, they wouldnt' be as popular as they are if they were bad. I believe people should stop lying about others and take responsibility for themseleves and there own mistakes and not blame a company that aren't the ones who messed up. thats all im going to say for now i just believe that the internet is a place where people cover up the truth to make themselves look better or to make others look bad and i think sometimes the truth has to be told. Anyone who takes the time to call the company will see how quickly and kindly the company handles there customers and any issues and is beyond fair. Check for yourself and dont believe the other report written, bunch of lies. The school is very good and theres a ton of people just like myself who would vouch for the school, i posted this hoping the liar who wrote the report to begin with sees and feels like an idiot for lying...but it is the internet after all, most of us use the internet to "make up" what we want in our own mind and not what "really is" ... i just thought id speak the truth. Its a great school with great service.

Frustrated parent experience

AUTHOR: frustrated parent - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 08, 2011

The previous persons ( Dexter San Diego) comment said "I have put so many of my kids throughout the program without a single problem" leads me to believe that this person may have a relationship of some sort with this business. "Dexter" must have a lot of kids or maybe a teacher at some school referring students, possibly for compensation. The person who gave the X-Mass gift was wrong to expect a refund, I agree, but I too have had a really bad experience with this business. My 16 year old daughter signed up for their so called "free internet online course", but later determined that she would have to take their six hour behind the wheel driving instruction course for $ 199.00 before she could receive any documentation stating she completed the online course. OK, so we proceeded, paid the fee of $ 199.00 over the phone and received a receipt in the mail explaining the charges but no written policy what so ever! We showed up for our appointment on time as it should be. Our driving instructor was 20 minutes late. Two other students were in the car. My daughter returned two hours later with one of the two other students in the car. The first student received a one hour lesson while my daughter & the other student received a half hour each. After sharing my concern about this to a female office employee, I was told that my daughter has six months to complete the required six hour course. I asked how many days will she need to attend to acquire six hours of driving time, again the employee said she has six months to complete. I clearly understood from this same employee from a previous earlier phone call that my daughter would be able to complete the driving course in six hours over a three day period spread out over six months. Now it appears, any number of days may be needed to attain six hours. Very miss leading. I also now understand that the course drivers can and will be late or not show up at all. Yet, I must allocate 5 hours of my time for a two hour, no correction, a half hour lesson. If the driver does not show up without any sort of advanced notice, I must contact the driving school and reschedule. If I don't we risk losing all of our fee's paid and/or risk a $ 50.00 cancellation fee. What is this? They can blow their customers off without notice but the consumer risk it all financially and their lost time has no value? Yes, this driving school can better plan their time and instruction allocation time per student without all this disregard for the consumers. Asking for a five hour window of your time for what amounts to be a half hour lesson per day over a twelve day session on average appears to be of very poor judgment. Their time matters but our time does not? I did not receive a written policy until all fees were paid. My daughter returned and was very concerned about what she had just experienced with the driving instructor . Keep in mind, they scheduled my daughter to drive at night in peak traffic time in a highly congested area. She told the driver instructor shed had very little to no driving experience, yet he put her behind the wheel of a "PT Cruiser" and told her to drive anyway. He did not go over the car with her or explained any last minute advice. My daughter also said he kept looking at the time and was texting while she was driving? He instructed her to do many procedure's without any lessons. He asked to her to drive off without making sure she had adjusted the seat of mirrors. She tried to release the parking break but apparently it was never set from the previous student driver, she mentioned this and he blew it off. She was excited about learning to drive, but now she is scared to go back and learn from this company, World Wide Driving School. My daughter and I fear for her safety. She now has mixed fillings about how young people are taught how to drive by strangers at driving schools. I would like my money back, but it appears I am in for a battle. My daughter also pointed out that "PT Cruisers" have one of the worst crash ratings of any car. Would you put your kid who is learning to drive behind a wheel of a PT Cruiser, at night during peak commute traffic in a highly congested area? Yes, I know they will have todeal with this someday, but not out on their first drive at the age of 16? I would expect more from this driving school. Drive the students to a safer area first, demonstrate the car functions, test their driving abilities in a big open space first before placing them in trafficat night. This is their responsibility, I paid them for this and would expect it from a reputable business. I was wrong for choosing World Wide Driving School. Bad BBB rating and a whole lot of similar complaints from many reputable internet sites

Since When does NO REFUND Policy mean "Okay Refund"?

AUTHOR: Dexter - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 22, 2011

I have learned that the internet is where most of us get our information, i happened to run across this website and found it intresting and actually this report somewhat schocking regarding Worldwide Driving School, just because i have put so many of my kids throughout the program without a single problem. The first thing i remebered is there is a NO REFUND POLICY... so since when did people think you can get a refund on a no refund policy agreement. But what was even more important is the company always works with the consumer and not against the consumer, i personally know this because i know so many people who have used this company and have never had any issues.

There are several different packages you can enroll in with this school from group to private lessons or usually the sessions always end up private, or you recieve additional hours, because any group session allows you an additional scheduled session as you are only credited for the time you actually hold the steering wheel.

The other reason this complaint that was made sounds like a poor attempt to try and get money back when they dont deserve it, is the company is open seven days a week and works with students and there files even if they are old or expired, have you called the company to schedule your sessions ? I mean if you can't get a refund you can't get a refund, i know for a fact the company would easily schedule your sessions.

Another thing i found intresting is the original party who reported on this school stated that the instructor shows up late ... did you MISS the part on your reciept where it states instructors can run late, sometimes up to an hour due to weather, driving conditions, etc so please block out a reasonable amount of time.

I don't know, maybe its just me, but you should probably read your reciept and contact the company as im sure they have not only tried to help you with your complaints, but you refused or tried to make it difficult, i know that the day after christmas everyone tries to return there christmas gifts, etc, but on a NO REFUND policy, you can't do that, and its pretty pathetic to over-exxagerate and lie about a company that gives so much to its community too begin with.

Sorry I had to post this and no offense but we consumers have responsbilities as well and can't just blame anyone but ourselves ... i know too many people who have gone through the school and this report doesn't add up, it sounds like a disgruntle human being... giving inaccurate information.
