i contacted the owner of dr. performance to get some work done to my truck. he said sure he could do it.he worked on it two or three diffrent times.said he put new parts on it which the dealer says he never. anyway two days after 30 miles later my engine started ratteling.he told me to take it to the dealer so i did and they tell me someone screwed up my engine and let parts off and not hooked up. so i had to buy a new engine for $16000 pay dr.performance $3500 for parts he did not change, and screwing my truck up. which voided my warranty and he said it wouldnt. i have tried to talk to them for 3 months they say its not there problem. and the dealer doesnt care they got their money. they aviod me and say they lost pictures that i needed for truck was two years old with 26000 miles on it not even broke in yet..

The labor time for that engine replacement is 19 hours, worst case. They charged you $315/hour?!

Ram 2500, 3500
w/o High Output 2003 - 2005 R5093537AA $5050.00
w/High Output 2003 - 2005 R5093539AA $5555.00

These are the OEM factory replacement engine FULL LIST prices. Add a couple hours labor to install the cylinder head.

I hope the shop that did the work gave you a big kiss.

the engine was a 2004 cummings turbo diesel. it ruined the engine and turbo which cost 10,000 to replace and 6,000 for dealer to install. thats how i come up with 16,000.

i thought it was pretty expensive to but whats a guy do. they had me bent over a barrel.

I was trying to understand how a motor would cost 16 thousand dollars? I think that some of the new diesels can cost up to 10 thousand dollars installed but not the price you are giving.

Please include the make, model and engine size of the truck you are talking about. As far a doing engine modification on a brand new vehicle, the manufacture will void your warranty. On a new Ford, just putting on a KN air filter will void replacement of some of the sensors. As far as what you did have done, it seems that you would be able to do legal follow-up to hold the business responsible if you will be able to show that the work was negligent or done incorrectly.
