SEO Reputation Management at its best!

We own a rental property & the tenant flushed the toilet and left the house. She came back & the place was flooded with water coming out of the toilet bowl. It was on a Sunday & my husband googled emergency water service and found Dry Wizard. They advertised "No out of pocket money, will deal directly with your insurance co".

My brother in law took a wet vac there & they started sucking out water before "Dry Wizard" arrived. Two guys showed up approx. 4:15pm. My brother in law offered 2 guys to help them but they refused. They sucked the water out, removed the carpet, tore out all my baseboards, set up lots of fans & left about 9:45pm.
I called my insurance the next day, finding out that they would not cover the expenses. Immediately I called Dry Wizard & told them & asked them how much it would be.
He faxed me an invoice for $5,600!

The invoice is so ridiculus, I would like to put it here for everyone to see. They charged us for 19 different things. Example:
Moisture mapping $140.85 & thermal imaging $281.70, whats that for? We all knew where it was coming from! Clean water out of the toilet!!
Emergency serv. $175, ok but overtime $422 & itemized labor of Baseboard removal $75, carpet removal $264.60, furniture moving $390, And a whole lot more!!

After I made a negative comment about the invoice, they went there, took their fans down & send they would lower the invoice to $4,823.55, saying their giving me a break since the place is dry a day earlier!(If it was insurance money, they would have kept them there 3 days)
Tuesday morning my brother in law went there & seen the pile of carpet & baseboards on the lawn and called me telling me what idiots they were. The baseboards were only wet an hour and should have been taken off nicer so I could still use them.

Oh yeah, they were charging me $250 to haul this stuff away on the invoice. I called Dry Wizard & told them NOT to come haul it away. And he said OK, we wont. I wanted to pick out the few baseboards that could be reused AND we had a truck to take it to the dump for $7. I was over there an hour later & everything was gone!

If you can legally charge someone almost $5,000 for 6 hours work & fan rental, we all need to start that business!!

We are getting an attorney for this also!
This is insane!

More Lies from Dry Wizard

AUTHOR: damann - (United States of America)

Just because this one website has two complaints does not mean they are the ONLY complaints about this company.  Do a websearch and you will see.  As for calling them to get a resolution, good luck.  I would call, they (Giselle the liar) would say you need to talk to this one or that one, take a message, and you would never hear from them.  I'm STILL waiting for my call from Joe (the dirty liar) about my concerns with their company's staff and their lies.  It's only been 2 months.  If you trust these people, prepare to get screwed.

Dry Wizard unscrupulous liars

AUTHOR: damann - (United States of America)

I am writing this as a warning to any and all that would use this pathetic excuse for a company to assist them.  My house was flooded in Tropical Storm Debby, and my landlord unfortunately contacted Dry Wizard to do the repair.  I could go into detail about how this company disrupted my life with their lies and excuses, but I would need the benefit of months of time to get over their atrocious "service", so that I could write about it dispassionately.  And this is still way too fresh a wound to be able to do so.

I will simply say this:  Anything that anyone who works for them says, is a lie.  If they say insurance will cover it, it won't.  If they say they will be there the next day, they won't.  If they say it will take x amount of time, it will take three times longer.  If two people are needed to do the job, they will send one. If you call them on their lies, they will do one of two things:  1) Blame someone else; or 2) Deny they ever said what you know they said to your face.

Daniel Linga is a "field supervisor", and a bald faced liar.  Joe something or other is the owner, and a no good liar.  Some girl named Giselle works in the office and she too, is a liar who will give you the most ridiculous BS excuses conceivable.  There is also some weaselly little guy who will talk your ear off with assurances that this or that will be done the right way or within a certain time frame and "guarantee" that this or that will happen and he is a dirty stinking liar.

Trust these scumbags at your peril.

You are mistaken!

AUTHOR: Garron - (USA)

The company you are reporting does very good work. Nothing they do is shady. The prices they use are standards from insurance companies. The technicians use an estimate sheet that has the prices already on it. It doesn't vary from home to home. If they move small peices of furniture its less, but if they move a room of furniture its more. The mapping and imaging charge is not to find out where the water is from but where it is going so that they don't overcharge for assumptions that it went further than it really did. You had an emergency on a Sunday...they work M-F. It was an emergency call to keep you from getting mold. The base boards are removed based on linear feet. Carpet is removed based on sq footage. There are protocols that insurance companies set forth that they use. Everything they do is documented for instances like this when the consumer/insurance company doesn't want to pay. They take plenty of pictures before and after. $250 for them to haul away the trash is cheaper than getting a dumpster. If i were you I would not reuse anything that was wet...you will eventually if not already get mold growth behind your walls for using the baseboards. Lastly, as it sounds like this flooded the whole floor in the house...$5K is a pretty average charge for the sq footage and amount of equipment that is required to meet protocol (set forth by ins co). If protocol was not followed you could've end up with a bill of 15k-20k w/mold damage. Good luck with a lawsuit. Their attorney never loses...he's very good especially since they have all the evidence required documented.
