The comments I mentioned were made on his Youtube channel beside the video he produced for us. WE were shocked and Mom was deeply hurt from it. He has since removed them as well as the comments that we took offense to that stated we were using his videos wrongfully or without permission...something like this. You do not see them because they have been removed but ONLY AFTER i started this report.

The words "move on" imply that i no longer expect him to do as he told us he would and refund our money. I still am pretty upset that he would take advantage of Mom by telling her every 2 weeks to expect the refund so i wont stop the updates until i feel things have been rectified and he becomes the honest man his friends on here seem to THINK he is. Im just waiting on even one of his friends to e-mail me so I can send them all the e-mails i kept that show everything I am saying on here is true. More than anything, i hate being called a liar or dishonest. As long as you guys keep saying its me who is not being honest, i will cont. to back my side of the story up. Im sure you can get my e-mail addy from Troy himself or go to craigslist where I have posted a link to this report in Houston. If Troy wants to clear his name...why not simply give them my information as I now allowed you to do so I can send them the e-mails that they seem to think i DONT have.
Remember, the report was only generated AFTER he said he would refund our money for the ADVANCE video tapes. We never asked for anything for the video that was done (money)..just for the ones we paid for in advance. After HE hired an attorney and threatened to sue me for harassment just because i sent him ONE e-mail saying i did not like the final product and sent in a paypal claim, Mom and me were shocked! I think this is fair! His friends should tell him to just give us the money back instead of posting on here everyday. WE paid for a product we never recv. How many times do I have to post this!! This report is NOT for the video we disliked! I would give you my info myself but this report does not support leaving my info. I am waiting on ANYONE who wants proof. This person has a problem with me..yes this is true...so why take it out on my mother?? Why post such things on your youtube channel and why not refund her money?? DO the right thing and stop this mess and stop getting friends who obviously do not know you post on here. I thought you were a nice, Christian guy too. People do make mistakes in judgments all the time. I am just waiting on you to tell these people that you did not say you would refund the money for the advance copies. But thats one thing i do not think you will do. The reports will cont to update until he keeps his word..period.

I have known Mr. Colburn for many years. I have neither seen, nor heard tell of him behaving in a manner such as you describe. Its just that simple. Then, you post the words, "he is not very smart and will blame you for all his own errors." If these falsehoods you outrageously insist on posting keep business from Mr. Colburn, that's libel. Libel, in many instances, gets people in a great deal of trouble. Problems with the company or person written in a calm and coherent manner can be respected. Maligning an honorable man's character - and don't forget the catty remarks you added for garnish! - is just rude.

There are so many statements in your posts (strangely, quite a few for someone who is "moving on" from the situation) that could, and should, be questioned. So much of what you've posted does *not*, in any way, match up with what I know to be the facts of this dispute. This seriously makes me question your veracity, at the very least. Let's just clear up one of these, shall we? You have said that Mr. Colburn has "damaged our name". Actually, I haven't gotten that impression at all. His only issues have been with you, Shay. Personally. Never once has he said one single, solitary thing wrong or bad about your mother or the company.

I think the whole thing was fraught with miscommunication from the start. Mr. Colburn did so much for y'all because he did not want to spoil his good name by sending away an unhappy client. I see that his efforts to do that have been misunderstood and unappreciated. What a shame.

This is WHY the rip off report was started in the first place. The report was NOT started because the work was poor. Mom and I decd. to move on (as stated in the first listing) and let Troy make up for the bad work with the next videos. We paid our money AND signed a contract and were not about to break OUR word. If there was no contract involved we would have never gone on using him..period. Troy asked for more money (in advance) on the future projects in the contract and Mom gave it to him (against my advice) because she trusted he him. A few days later, he e-mailed us and said he no longer wanted to work with us because it was costing him to much to produce the videos and he would return the money my mother paid for the future videos.

If you read HIS rebuttal AND my first post in full and are an intelligent investigator, you will see what the report is really about. It does not even really matter (for the purpose of the report) that his work was poor, but that he promised us money back for the future work we paid for but never got. If we were not telling you the truth, (we stated SEVERAL times that Troy offered us a refund but we never got it) don't you think this wold have been the very first thing mentioned in HIS rebuttal and post?? Troy prides himself in being a "Christian Man" and I hope to God that he would never actually lie through his teeth and tell anyone he did not do what he said he would do. In fact, he has never even disputed that in ANY of these post. The only thing I can find that he was not being truthful about with the fact that he gave us 30 DVDS when in fact, it was only 15. This is the thing i recall most but it maybe something else, i just don't have time right now to go back and read everything. He was even truthful when he mentioned Mom and I do not always see eye to eye. This is a fact and its crazy that he thinks I had anything to do with her no liking the video because she NEVER listens to me...lol It doesn't matter if I did not like the video or if i even said i would reshoot it if i were him. It was my own personal view. He asked me what i thought...i told him. He took my statements and canceled on my MOTHER...this is why I keep saying he is NOT professional. Why cancel on my mother because your feelings are hurt because I did not like the video. Keep shooting, make the next one better and pick your chin up off the ground! Instead, our contract was canceled.


If you did truly look at our screen shot of the background, I will take your words into consideration even if i do not agree. No, i do not think clothing in the background of a professional video shoot gives ANYTHING "character". What i DO recall is those same words being used somewhere in an e-mail I got from the same man we are speaking of. Its interesting someone from Iowa would find our little dispute online out of hundreds even though it is only mentioned on the HOUSTON craigslist and no where else. Now, its on our site as well so PROFESSIONAL dancers and people all over can also let us know there thoughts.

We have no need to lie about anything...just state the facts. All his facts have been about what he DID do...we are trying to focus on what was NOT done and that is the return of our money! Even in his rebuttal, he mentions that he is trying to work it out with us. This clearly means the return of the money..but of course we never got it. It was his 5th or 6th time stating it would be returned.

EXACTLY!! Thank you very much for your post and for pointing that out. eThis is what makes our rip off report justified!!! WE do not want "something for nothing"...we simply want SOMETHING... We gave an advance for the future videos but we never got the future videos. I REALLY wish people would read more clearly.

She's talking about the kind of people that want something for nothing and only want attention. She said nothing about your race. Obviously, you need to learn to read propper grammer. I saw your screen shot and for a hip hop video, I think it's perfect. What did you want, a plain white backdrop? You wouldn't have been happy with that either. I think the background gives it character. It is clearly not a garage. It does look like studio.

In order to prove that this is NOT a HOAX...I have spent the time out to learn how to capture a screen shot from the video. It wasn't easy but I hate the fact that someone who obviously has NOT seen the actual video claims that Mom and I only want attention. We never asked for money back nor did we ask him to redo the video at any time. What I did suggest is that I would do it over just because he knew it looked bad. Mom and I were willing to move on and shoot the next video however, TROY canceled the contact...not us! We were not happy with the outcome but we were willing to finish the contract and move on..hoping the next video would be better than what you can see in the link below:

Then, he posted his nice rebuttle which is not 100% true, including the fact that he gave us over 30 DVDs...it was 15..come on..15 DVD's that WE never asked for! I also did my own artwork and never once asked him to do anything extra..he was upset when i did not want to use what he had but agreed in the end that my artwork was great! The point of this whole report was to educate people in how they work with photographers and videographers. Sometimes, things you are "told" are not the same as things that are legal. All we wanted originally was to move on and make the next one better! I dont just have employee's that think this, but if you like, I have several clients
and attorney's that have seen this dvd now. Over 20 someodd people I have shown this too, and all have said, " I dont see the problem with it. It looks amazing!" The $3.00 a dvd thermal print you both recieved, was a added bonus, I was taken advantage of.....All think I took the raw end of the deal, because what I put into this, was beyond, and I did the best I could for people, not just you, but for everyone! I know how hard it is, to work and work, and still come up short. I gave you a amazing deal, yet you both put me inbetween, which is undisputed a relationship of mother and daughter, that was in conflict of each other. I have no control of what my employee wishes to put on here, that is there 1st amendment right, as a college major, I should know. I have 4 years of college, and 6 years of service to my country, in the United States Navy. I dont screw people over. Anyone wanting to use my services, I have over 40 weddings, 2 music videos, 3 documentaries, and 7 independant films, which, Not a one unhappy client, until I was put on here. I am moving on, as well, and may God Bless You, for tarnishing my reputation, not just in business, but as a human as well.
And since you wish to blame the remarks, on your race, which is not allowed on here, that is in the rules, I have several hispanic, african american, and middle eastern employee's that work for me, and I have done weddings, quinceaner's, birthday parties, and all agree,

This is NOT a HOAX and I am insulted that the "Employer" of this person would say such a thing. I also feel that because of my race, this person is saying things like "these are the type of people you would see on Judge Judy"..how insulting! What people is she talking about? Those who are college educated and who stand up for whats right? This person FORGOT to state the truth and that is we NEVER asked for that video to be reshot...i only suggested that IF I WAS him..i would have just for the customer service. Yes, the price was AWESOME but the work was far from it. Yes...the studio is nice...but the way he shoot it made it LOOK like a garage because of the clothing, props, ect in the background. No Mom and I REFUSE to sell such quality videos to ANYONE. People have been asking for a video from us for months now and we have nothing to sell them...

As far as my mom and I putting this company through a lot...what about the lawyers and threats of harassment Troy? The fact that he does not think this is stressful is insane. He told my Mom and me after seeing this on rip off report that we would get our money again...on Monday...still..no money. Stop saying you will refund the money if you only plan stretch this out more. We get it...you wont return her money. We get it..we have been ripped off. I have read what was said and this complaint is a hoax!!! I have work with DTR Films for about a year now. Troy makes sure the job is done right and to the client's pleasure. Troy went out of his way to make this video for them. I saw the video and showed to my family and they thought it was great. The comment they made was why were they dressed so poorly. I don't mean unclean or not matching but rather unprofessional.
The studio they used is a high end studio that is a photographers dream. I have been to this studio many times and know for a fact that it is wonderful. From the sitting room, kitchen, dressing rooms, make-up area, and the other areas in the studio it is very classy.
How dare they say such lies!!! The lighting was so poor at their studio that troy offered to let them use the studio. Ungrateful people!!!!!
I hate to say this but it is true these people wanted something for nothing. These are the people you see on Judge Judy. Then Judge nails them for bringing nonsense into her court room.
Troy dropped his price because he felt sorry for them and wanted to help them out. Troy has done this for many clients because he knows that it is hard to make your dreams come true. Troy puts 100% into everything he does.
I am sure they will comment back and make a big deal about what I have wrote because that is the kind of people they are. They just want something for nothing and I am sure they are selling the DVDs and making money off of it. But because they don't have anything better to do in life they are doing this.
Troy has all the emails and can prove that this is a Hoax!!

edit the dvd to specifications. The daughter and the mom-Cheryl Williams both put me in the middle of there personal relationship, and I have the emails that I have reported all to my atty, and to Pay Pal reguarding this. The daughter's last comment to me when I asked her to come over was, " why do I have to do my Mothers stuff for her, let her handel her own stuff: and so Cheryl came over to my personal home, to watch the edit, and go over what was done. The only thing we had a issue with , was the timing and the background, which was to be fixed. However, Shay called and not only insulted the entire video, but demanded the entire video be reshot,, The Gargage that she said this was shot in, was a 2300.00 a month professional studio. Which, came out of my personal pocket for trying to be the good guy and give them more than what they were paying for.
I spent over 200.00 in tape stock, and over 30 hours in time of shooting, due to ,
the mother- cheryl williams - THE LINE DANCE Queen, was a little camera shy, due to the 1sttime being in front of the camera. CANNON XL2, a $5000.00 camera, I was not shooting them on some sony handi cam. They were given professional
equipment. Dollytracks were used, and lighting as well. They have been given over 30 dvd's, plus I even made some with artwork specified to Shay's request. I have not been unreasonable, but she feels it necessary to slander me. To put someone's address online is completly unsafe, but guess she feels different.
I am workingto repair this with them, and will go from there.

Due to this report, DTR has removed both the videos of my mom AND the comments about her using his work without his permission. I just wanted to update this and let everyone know that this is a first step they have taking at a resolution.

It seems my efforts on ROR and also using other avenues has reached this person some. However, he told me that he would call the police on me if i did not remove his address from this report. The address provided on this report is the address that he provides online (anyone can find it by doing a simply google search online for his company). I guess he uses his home address like a lot of small businesses as the address of his company. I had no idea of this nor would i have ever known this. If you provide your home address online for public record as your business address i think i have full rights to place it on this site also. He tells me its his home address but i have no way of knowing this since he places it as his business address online. He told me to simply "make one up". I feel like he has AGAIN threatened me with police, lawyer..ect...for simply telling you the truth. He now says the money will be returned on Aug. 12. He also says that these statements above will be sent to his lawyer for slander..i guess this is something else i will also have to send to me lawyer for review..sad...my mom just wanted her money back and now we have had to pay for lawyers AND have to deal with police reports...just sad....

This is what i wrote to this guy, hoping he would return our money (he says he will EVERY 2 weeks)...still no response.

I have been very patient and understanding with you regarding the money that you owe The Line Dance Queen Productions and Cheryl Williams. The paypal account which paid you in a JOINT account that I use as my mothers employee to pay people so I have full rights to contact you. You have told me on several occasions that you would pay me back for the deposit on work that was never done but have not. I have now had to consult with my attorney because we cannot seem to get money from you that you have promised us since early June. You have stolen money from my mother so this is what we need you to do.


Please remove the Youtube video from your channel. My mother has full copyright privileges of her image, choreography and likeness, performance, ect. You were just the videographer and only have rights to YOUR WORK if any. The original agreement was that we have rights to all copyrights AND masters but you have since said we do not. The contract says we have rights to a master also, so you cannot dispute this. We still have full rights to the above mentioned items including rights of privacy. My mother no longer wants to have a poorly produced video of her on you tube so she ask that you remove it immediately or you will be invading her rights or privacy and legal action will be taking.

I will check back with your channel on August 9th which is one week from today. You have until then to remove these items from your channel. You will need to destroy all masters from the videos (ALL) produced due to the above mentioned reasons. I will also need to see evidence that this has happened.

All of this information comes from our entertainment lawyer. He is really, willing and able to take action in a court of law if you do not comply. I would like to resolve these issues without attorneys, but PLEASE do not test me because we WILL PROCEED with attorneys to get our money back as well as have you remove the videos. Please return her money to her within this time frame also.
