I am the original poster of the 'rip-off report' on Dustin Volden and I'm writing this 'update' to let whoever comes across this report on Dustin to disregard it.  None of it is true.  I am actually a friend of Dustin's, and as the record on the Ripoff Report website shows, posted the original 'story' on Dustin Volden in 2004, when we were both about 20 years of age.  The point is, the post was a joke.  Being 20 years old, and around the period when Google was starting to allow one to 'google' their own name, I thought it would be rather humorous to make a 'public interest' post about this horrible Mr. Volden, so as to capture on the internet hilarious stories and 'first-hand accounts' of this wicked man's life.  The joke was both that our group of friends (minus Dustin) could laugh about the 'in-joke' that one of us 'found' this account of Dustin, and that Dustin would forever have this sort of miniscule infamy on the internet as the dude that took a date to subway only because it was 'Toonie Tuesday'. 

And it WAS hilarious.  But unfortunately, 20 year olds given the freedom to (hilariously) slander their friends online don't much think through the consequences of their little joke.  Seven years later, with google integrated so deeply into both the internet and its use, I recognize that potential employers, not to mention potential friends, acquaintances, partners, and associates, all have this false information just a click away.  Now originally, I just sought to remove the original posts on Dustin; it didn't help that others in our circle of friends contributed to the 'profile' by posting their own utterly ridiculous and untrue stories ("Dustin punched a cat in the head"?!!!!). 

But I soon realized that ripoffreport.com, in its infinite wisdom, has made the retraction of any reports impossible.  Literally.  In fact, they boast about their record against even court-ordered demands to remove slanderous posts, claiming that their unwillingness to remove posts protects the original poster from being 'pressured' by the company which it is 'exposing'.  Now that is fine, and I can see how their policy could be justified, particularly in regards to businesses, but, given the ease with which anyone (I am speaking from experience here obviously) can create a free account, and slander businesses and people, there is a definite danger with accountability.  That is, the poster, who may spout of any number of lies, might slander a business or person, with no possibility of reprisal.  The slandered party will, forever onward, have their name on the internet associated with these lies and unfounded accusations.  This, to me, doesn't seem right. 

So, in lieu of being unable to retract my original post, I am writing this, in the hopes that anyone looking up Dustin's name and finding this 'report', will believe me when I say that it is all entirely untrue.  Dustin did not put me up to this admission in any way, but it came as a result of reading a couple articles on online surveillance and the about the existence of companies whose business is to dig up any information it can on potential employees of other companies.  Dustin is a good friend, and it would be terrible if a joke of mine 7 years prior (when we were 20 years old) would result in him getting passed over for a job or promotion.  So please believe me: the stories in this 'ripoff report' are entirely untrue; Dustin is a great guy, a hard worker (as his ability to hold down a steady job for the last 6+ years suggests), a wonderful friend, and he has no secret past of punching cats, fathering children, or urinating on doormats.

I happened across this information.... how old is Dustin? Doesn't he have any family? I know people like that are annoying, but it sounds like this guy is going ot kill himself by drinking to much one day!

Dustin volden is an absolute savage. This was my encounter half a year ago...
There was a party at a friend's house, and everyone was over. Dustin being partially mentally handicapped, thought that it would be a swell idea to drink 4 40 oz.'s of old English malt liqueur. As a concerned friend, I told him that he should stop, while others egged him on. He proceeded to chase liqueur down his throat like Brett Beadle chases quarters... It was a sight for sore eyes. By 2 o'clock in the morning and 3 and a half 40's later, he sounded like a cat drowning in a bag. Every word that came out of his mouth was the wrong one. He wouldn't stop making an idiot out of himself. He would find females and ask them for anal sex. When these women said no, he would proceed to puke and fall over.
An angry older brother then broke up the party. We all had to leave, but Dustin didn't want to stop partying. A few went to another's friends' house, and played pictionary. Dustin being incoherent, made about as much sense as Sinbad, and tried to play pictionary as well. Dustin got on everyone's nerves and was told to leave. He had to find a way home somehow. It was downhill the rest of the way to his house, so he stole a skateboard from the side of his friend's house and skateboarded all the way home. How he made it home is anyone's guess. One thing is for sure, this will certainly not be the last time a tragic event involving Dustin and alcohol will occur.

Dustin truly is a haggard, disappointing human being. I know of his merciless drinking tactics, and when I saw this report, I simply had to tell a tale of my first and only date with him. First of all, I was set up by a girlfriend of mine and no idea what to expect. We are no longer friends anymore. So Dustin shows up and he gives me a bottle of cheap wine as a gift. I find it odd, but I appreciate it until I notice it has already been opened! So he goes to stealthily kiss me, and his breathe just reeks of alcohol!

I tell him I dont kiss on the first date (I do) and he then slaps my a*s and tells me to "lighten up" I just met him 2 mins earlier!! So I shake it off, and we get in his car (I can only assume it's his mother's) and you know where he takes me for supper? f**kin Subway! And his reason? "It's toonie tuesday, so go ahead and order any toonie sub, and it's on me, but if you want something else, you're on your own."

So I get a toonie sub, and as he is paying for the meal, he starts fighting with the cashier. It turns out he is trying to pay for the subs with his sub club card, but he only had 7 stamps, and you need 8 for a free sub. So he drew a stamp on, hoping the cashier wouldn't notice. At this point I tell him the date's over, and I will cab home.

I hail a cab and hop in, and 2 mins later I notice his car is following us. He then pulls ahead and turns out of view. When I arrive at my house, his car is in my driveway, and he is banging on my door. I tell the cabbie to stay and I approach Dustin and tell him to get the hell off my property.

He agrees to go under 1 condition; he gets his wine bottle back. So I go inside to grab the bottle, and when I come back, he's pissing on my doormat! I end up calling the cops, but he takes of and that ends the worst date ever. I haven't seen him for years, but if I ever do, I'm going to kick him in his shrivled up p***s.

Something must be done about this "voldemort." He was recently seen drinking a 2/6 of bacardi 151 by himself in one night. He passed out drunk and had various objects tapped to him. In a drunken rage, he punched a cat in the head. After this he stomped outside where he proceeded to pass out on the front lawn.

Dustin has recently been seen coming out of Andrea Roe's house with his pants off and his shirt on backwards. He was inherantly drunk and his head smelt of feces. No one knows exactly what went on in the house, we can only hope and pray that Andrea is not pregnant. For if she is, a child will be born that surely will devour us all. May God have mercy on our souls.
