Received a call from a nice American guy - Sam - to purchase our antique/classic  car.  After emailing numerous photos, agreed on a price - accepted Paypal payment.   I had viewed their web site - they seemed legit.

Two Russians came to check out the car in Michigan, drove it and loaded it on their car hauler - they had a few others on there from California, etc.

After they received the car in Derry, New Hampshire, Stephen Condodemetraky calls to say they put it on a lift found rust and now claim the car is only worth $100. -they want a full refund - and he claims they "always" get a refund from American Express.   Seems like they've used this scam a few times.   Would love to hear from others that have sold to Dusty Old Cars in Derry, New Hampshire.    Since this happened, I've seen his name on numerous Rip Off Reports and Yelp Reports, but had not found his name prior.

When you're dealing with Dusty Old Cars to sell your vehicle - it's not the Russian guy you'll talk to - it's anyone else.

I was extremely honest with them about the vehicle - sent photos - told what we knew about the vehicle (it was taken as a partial deposit on a home)

Do not EVER accept credit card payments from this guy.    Have him pay cash on the spot or don't deal with him.  I took photos before and during the take-away - the two guys picking up were not keen on having their photos taken.  Now I see why.

Paypal sided with me - the seller of the Lincoln - Am Ex sided with buyer and gave money back - even though Stephan Condodemetraky already SOLD the car and was paid - I still have not received $$

AUTHOR: Screwed in Michigan - ()

I was told by Paypal that American Express will 99% of the time side with their customer - who in this case was the buyer Stephan Condodemetraky, AKA Dusty Old Cars, AKA Aftokinito Properties Inc.    Paypal sided with me and wanted "Dusty Old Cars" to pay for the vehicle they bought via Paypal.   After months of waiting for a decision, I was told American Express would not release the funds again.  AmEx pays you first, then takes back funds (within 30 days) when Condodemetraky tells them he's not satisfied with the purchase.

I emailed that I would have the Ipswich Police Department come and pick up the car, they would call ahead of time and the car would be donated to a great cause - the police were volunteering with the Moore, OK disaster.

Stephan Condodemetraky, of Dusty Old Cars and Aftokinito Properties Inc - emailed back that the CAR WAS SOLD BY HIM -  He was now offering to pay $500.  This was up from his original lame offer of $100.00 for a 1969 Mark III Lincoln Continental that he originally agreed to pay $2200.00.

So, in essence, he sent representatives to check out the vehicle, drove it, loaded it on a car carrier to NH, he requested a chargeback from AmEx, I disputed with Paypal, I won with Paypal but not with AmEx (and Paypal has to honor AmEX decision), and Condodemetraky did NOT allow us to retrieve the car.

He is adding photos to my site and another on this rip off report of rust to the underside of a car that are EXACTLY the same.   Is this part of his scam?????  He never ASKED for photos of the underside and knew that we had taken the car as a deposit on a home.  We are NOT dealers with a lift.

He is also posting to all complaints his standard legal response of how everyone is accusing him of wrong - and that they're lying.   Read all of the reports against them and see who is lying.

I see that on October 20, 2013 another person has filed a similar report to mine.  Is this a popular buying technique from Dusty Old Cars?  They sign a contract, pay via American Express then file a chargeback, get their money, and then SELL YOUR CAR and YOU GET NOTHING.   I'm going to be sure to file with the Attorney General and others necessary.

The public needs to BE AWARE that Condometraky has and can pay you, demand his money back from American Express and receive it.

Do you want to bother selling under these conditions??  Sell for CASH ONLY.

Check with PayPal for the Truth - 3rd Party does not lie

AUTHOR: DustyOldCars.com - ()

It recently came to our attention that there are individuals that have sold us vehicles, that we have paid for via PayPal, that are attempting to tell people that we are doing something wrong.  This is absolutely FALSE, these people misrepresented their cars and lied to sell them to us.

1. We buy and sell 30-40 cars each month and we accept PayPal for the purchase of vehicles and use PayPal to buy them.  We do thousands of dollars in business each month and we are recognized by PayPal as an excellent Business Customer.

2. When we buy a car using PayPal we spell out the terms of the purchase using a Bill of Sale that specifies the condition of each vehicle.  This always includes if the vehicle runs, drives, has or does not have rust, or if there are other disclosed issued that we need to know about prior to buying the car.

3. Once we receive the vehicle we document, with over 200 pictures, the condition of the car, including if it is rusty or not.  Please see our website, www.dustyoldcars.com.

4. If and only if the vehicle is not as represented do we ask the Seller to provide us with a refund in full or in part.  Most sellers, over 95%, represent their cars honestly and there are no issues.

5. There are a couple of cases listed here, which we have won via PayPal on every issue, that clearly showed that the cars were misrepresented, i.e. very rusty, rotting, patched badly, did not run & drive, and then were not disclosed.

6. In ALL CASES involving this issue you will read the details and find that the Seller tries to make a case that we knew that the car had some issue, or that we are selling it for more than we bought it for, or one better, that they "FORGOT" to look under the car.

7. Everyone knows that if you buy something and it is not as represented that you are entitled to get a full or partial refund.

Not settled yet

Seems to be this is the magic number with this guy. Nothing has been decided yet. As I stated before we have agreed to take the car back but the buyer is responsible for the return shipping.

We were told not to make any deals with this business. He has the car which he claims is not worth what he paid for sale on his website and has had it on Ebay for more that what he paid us for it. Obviously if it was not worth what he paid he would not be asking more than his purchase price or that would definately be unethical business practice.

Keep in touch with pay pal, tell him and inform Pay Pal that you will recieve the car back if he wishes a refund. I am curious if he agrees to it or not. Keep us posted on your outcome.

I am just wondering what was the final outcome of this situation? I am in the same kind of perdicament here and I would like to know what to do or what might happen? I am being told that the car is only for HALF of what I was paid for it - which was $4400 and I am beng threatened with a "chargeback". I feel like if you buy something its a done deal unless you buy it from walmart and kept your receipt!! Please let me know
