They called me from a local number and left a message stating that it was an attempt to collect a debt and to please call a toll free number. Once I called they didn't even know my name and they only gathered it by asking. Then person then began telling me about an outstanding debt from some credit card from some bank that I have never heard of alledgedly affialiated with JC Penny whom I have never had any store credit card with either. I began challenging the person on the phone about the validity of their claim and the threatened that it would go on my credit report. I asked them what my social was and they refused to tell me but asked me to disclose it which I refused. I then asked them to simply confirm the last 4 digits of my social which she could not and then she just hung up on me. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!
