I am disabled. I entered into a binding contract with Eagle Van Lines, LLC and paid 20% down to reserve the date of Sept. 26, 2011 for them to come to my house in MO and pack  up and load all my personal posessions and to deliver them in Florida what I was told would be 5-8 days later. Not only did they not show up on the 26th, but they had me sign a power of attorney to the woman who bought my house so she could be there when they arrived the following day.  I have two teenagers and had already planned my route and made hotel reservations, so we went ahead and did this and left.  They did not show up the following day.  In fact, they had excuse after excuse after excuse as to why they did not pick up my stuff.  It was always "tomorrow".  The woman to whom I gave power of attorney kept taking off work because they promised it would be "tomorrow".  They finally showed up after about 10-11 days and promptly said, "oh, this is not what we were prepared for. This is not a full pack move".  Well, indeed it was, but they said they would not honor the binding estimate I had and I would have to pay them $900 additional for them to complete the move.  Speaking to Michelle who claims to be the sales manager, she told my husband she "didn't give a crap what Eric told us," that if we wanted our stuff moved it would require an additional $900.  I didn't HAVE another $900 and frankly I'm thankful I didn't.  I hear now the they hold people's belongings "hostage", charging them more when they get to the new home or they will not even park in the driveway but way down the street.  These people are nothing but scam artists, and as someone who sufferes from both fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, it has been nothing short of hell with not even a chair to sit on.  I don't know how these people sleep at night, honestly.
