Eagle Village Resort Run down, obnoxious staff, and downright filthy Bushkill Pennsylvania

Last year a friend of mine recieved a free time share stay from her employer. I drove over 2 hours to go stay at this so-called resort. It was stuck in the middle of no where. It looked like a run down dive on their website but it was much worse in person. The A frame cabins have This End Up Furniture. There is only one queen sized bed. God forbid someone tall wants to stay overnight. There are 2 twin beds and then after you go up a spiral staircase is a trundle bed with a beat up laminate table. The upstairs is not a bedroom but a loft. There is no door and anyone in the living room can see what you are doing. I had a 2 year old which had I known there was a dangerous staircase I would have not come there. There were fleas jumping on my legs. The carpets were that low grade institutional junk that have never been cleaned. There was no disenfectant only a sponge and a sample of dish soap. Everything was dirty. I arrived at 6 pm on a Tuesday. My friends had been there for a few days already. The cabin or whatever you want to call it was locked so I walked quite a long way to go to the pool. People barrel through very fast on the road and there are no sidewalks. There are no paths to take a walk whatsoever. If you have an infant or toddler you are screwed. I assumed my friends might be at the pool. I walked into the recreational area and a giant fat guy with breasts stops me and rakes me over the coals about what I am doing. I dscribed what my friend looked like and said, "How else do you want me to find her when you can't get a cell phone signal on top of a mountain?" Finally he let me go to the pool area. This guy was not a life guard just someone who paroles all around. I've got news. No one wants to swim in an indoor pool in August and I doubt someone from the neighborhood is going to sneak into the pool when there are nicer places to attempt to sneak into. This place loves to brag about their customer service skills and their high ratings. I know there is NOTHING to do at this place at all. If you do not make some type of plans or do not have a lot of money to do outdoor activities then you will be bored out of your mind. There is a lake but you have to walk through the woods and brush to get there. The next day I took my toddler up to the playground. It was plastic playground equipment that was 20 years old. There was dirty sand and cigarette butts all over. The miniature golf was full of rotten wood with splinters and rotten dolls and plastic flowers that had been left out in the rain and snow. The lounge area had outdated games and books and looked like something from the Brady Bunch. My friends invited me to go there this week. I was supposed to leave today but cannot make it up there. How do I reach them? I don't know which cabin they are staying in. I called the main office and asked the woman who answered the phone if someone could leave a note on the cabin door because I doubt my fiends would listen to landline voicemails. The woman who answered the phone had an attitude when she answered and then proceeded to tell me that maintenance was busy and when they got around to it they would leave a note. What maitenance people? The property is disgusting! I tried to be friendly and said, "I know you are very busy but do you think you yourself could walk down and tape a note to the door? "No, that is not my job!" Finally I said, "Listen I had a horrible stay last year and I did not commnet on Yelp or TripAdvisor but maybe I need to do that to ensure that my friend gets the message?" She then screeched at me and argued that they had an upscale family run establishment with the highest customer service ratings in the area. When I mentioned how disgusting the property was and how rude the fat guy was she cut me off and said that they are redoing everything. She slammed the phone down on me. Normally I would post something on tripadvisor but I noticed that they always respond back to the poor or terrible rating with snide comments about how wonderful this place is. No one ever says, "We are sorry that should not have happened." Please do not go to this white trash dump run by high school drop outs. For the same price you can rent a private home or cabin that is much nicer. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed. Whenever a business has treated me poorly I tell anyone and everyone not to go there. I have traveled all over the world and throughout the US and this is by FAR the worst placce I have stayed in.
