Misunderstanding about water softening

There are companies that combine water softening with rust or other impurity removal but a water softener, by itself, is only able to remove the pipe clogging minerals from water and nothing more.
A filter bed is required to remove other impurities from water. The resin bed required for a salt regeneration softening system is only able to do a minimal job of dealing with rust.
I hope that clears up the misconceptions you have about softening water.

The easy water info/website specifically states that it will only prevent/remove water scaling. It goes on to inform potential customers no less than 3 times that minerals will still be in the water. It warns you that you will have to wipe water up as it will leave evaporative minerals behind. It even informs you that some soaps would be better off with a salt treatment system!
Also, it DOES soften water. Go look up soft water. All soft water means is that the minerals are in a form that will not form scale or scum up pipes/appliances.
It's not a scam if your not capable of understanding what the product is actually doing.
