Economic Freedom Corp. is a Scam!!!!! They are a copy-cat organization of other legitimate companies involved in debt settlement. I cannot speak for their services provided however becoming an affiliate is definitely the scam part. I purchased over $3000.00 dollars worth of call-center hours at the advice of Hadley Starkey who is their Director of Marketing. He will never call you back once he has your money. The marketing department itself will also never call back. If they are a legitmate company and i somehow fell through the cracks as an affiliate i still say that if this is how they treat their affiliates then you can't trust them as a customer either.

Which debt settlement companies are "legitimate"?..

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

.and while pondering the answer, and waiting for a true answer which may never come...I would suggest anyone who finds it impossible to pay their debts..to try on their own to reach an agreement with the debtors. Why pay up front fees when you are already tapped out?..and they can not do anything more then you can..which is to try to negotiate.

If someone feels they are out of control with debt...they should consult with a qualified "credit counselor", not a debt settlement company..which to date I can only find reports of scams regarding all of them.

I feel bad that the OP purchased call center hours and got ripped off, but what really can you expect when you get involved with a well known rogue industry?

SOLUTIONS TO ALL THESE PROBLEMS (HOPEFULLY)!!!

Sometimes when you make purchases (such as with Economic Freedom Corporation), the charges you authorized are confirmed by a third party.  The first person you speak to tells you that you will be contacted by a third party to verify charges.  When the person calls, they say the call is recorded for accuracy and training purposes.  They will not answer any questions, but.... when they state that "you agree to the charges and understand they are non refundable, make sure that, yes you understand but that you have agreed to the charges based on what you were told ie. that you would recoup your investment within XX amount of days - weeks, etc.  This is now on record.

Then, you MUST REPORT your concerns and financial losses to the Attorney General's Office in your state.  They have to have a certain amount of complaints on a single company before they will investigate. Many laws are being broken if the "SCAM" is real.  I spoke to my credit card company and my bank.  The recording may be used by them to determine what you thought you were purchasing.  Remember - don't as this as a question - just state the facts.  This is a good idea with any purchase where a recording is being made if you have concerns.
