EKMpowershop rip-off UK ecommerce SME market. If you are one of the unfortunate owners of a EKMpowershop website and paying 19.99 per month you may like to know that the website you have is based on a generic shopping cart that actually is FREE. You see a group of people setup an open source project to deliver a great website, built by experts and then because its open source they gave it away so that we can all benefit from their knowledge.
Products like Oscommerce come to mind and Joomla and Magento are all Open source projects that charge nothing.
EKMpowershop have tied their product to a single instance Database which means that they have Zero costs once the first site is launched. As an owner you may get emails saying your shop will go off line due to maintenance. If you're looking for a great FREE ecommerce website then look into (((competitor's name redacted))) and if you have an EKMpowershop website.
The truth is this, You don't own it , you can't take it with you if you decide to leave EKMpowershop, you're being ripped off on your monthly fee, you can't get FTP access to your website, you can't make changes to the look and feel of your site without having to pay for it. Worst of all you'll never own it. YOU have been warned www.EKMpowershop .co.uk = RIPOFF!!!

I note that EKMpowershop updated an insider post stating that they don't use open source. No one ever said they did. However what they didn't defend is more important to the consumer. You won't ever own it, you cant take it with you and its not SEO friendly. Your futile comments make no difference EKMpowershop are a complete Ripoff.

Just to clarify a few points on the UK's leading ecommerce platform, ekmPowershop.com:
