If the truck had serious handling problems like you described. Who buy something for that much money and doesn't give it a good test drive? Why did you agree to pay so much more than it was worth, considering it's over ten years old? Sounds more like a case of buyer's regret than anything else.

If there was no warranty, they are not bound to do anything, regardless of whether you think the truck is "dangerous". It is up to the buyer to spot these faults by test driving the vehicle before buying it. When it was obvious there was a suspension issue the vehicle should have been taken to a reputable shop for an inspection, or preferably to a Dodge dealer. If the place where you bought the vehicle does not appear to have qualified mechanics or the correct equipment you should insist on taking it to a shop or dealer that does. In spite of the fact that you had a bad experience, you do not have the right to stop making payments. All that does is ruin your credit, and make it that much harder for anyone else trying to buy a vehicle on credit. These costs are simply passed along to the rest of us.
