Brought my car to Econobake to have have it repainted (same color). Price included sanding and primer. When I picked the car up it was a mess. There was overspray on the window, the exhaust tips, the wheels, tires, and engine. I ended up replacing the chrome valve covers and air cleaner. I removed the rear spoiler and brought it back to them because they forgot to paint it. I also had to remove the masking tape that they left on the rocker panels and other parts of the car. Within a month the paint started cracking and I could see that they never sanded the car or used primer before it was painted.

The individual that put this comment on this website stated that he went to Econobake - we are Electrobake - checked our records - had no such customer during that time period like that. We pride ourselves on service and commitment and stand behind the work that we do our customers. Not sure how our name got dragged in to this but we will be contacting the appropiate people at ripoff report and trying to resolve this mis-filed report.

Because a quality auto paint job costs a lot of bucks, and most cars come from the factory with at least a very good and very durable paint job. Some people will want a custom job just because they want a custom paint job, and they are willing to pay big bucks to get what they want. But a car that NEEDS an honest repaint job is usually not worth repainting.
I remember a paint shop called "Earl Scheib" (I think that was/is the name) that was famous for cheapo paint jobs that were a bit short on attention to detail but at least their paint jobs would last a year or three.... long enough to dump the car.
