Like many who visit Cabo, I was taken in and bought a timeshare.
After never thinking I would fall for it again, I did.
I already had a timeshare, and then went on another timeshare presentation.
My wife and I were assured by our salesman, omar, that just because we had a timeshare now, doesnt mean we cant have another! But we dont want two, we explained. Ah, yes in comes Elite Retreat, the company who has some kind of relationship with Pueblo Bonito. We were told, yes, we could sell the other timeshare and then pay for this one! What a novel idea!
Again, like many, we paid the 199 to Kevin Trachsel and Elite Retreat. Promises from both Pueblo Bonito and Elite Retreat were not in short supply. Well, after a year, we did not renew our contract, and considered ourselves lucky for not paying more.
Any contact to Elite Retreat had to be made by me, or it didnt happnen. Lower the price, its the economy! Yes, yes, we have heard this all before. And in the end, nothing happened. No sale, only empyt promises.
Do not use Elite Retreat!

Timeshare Purchase Scams
AUTHOR: SammiF - ()
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, April 22, 2014
Timeshare purchase scams are vacation properties that are sold in an unethical matter. During holidays, many vacationers are approached on the streets to be invited to have a free breakfast and a free tour, among other gifts, only if they accept to attend a 90 minutes sales pitch. This invitation is actually a hook to bring people to timeshare presentations. There are persons who enjoy attending timeshare presentations to get the freebies; however, it is very important to be extremely careful, since these presentations are very high pressure and a considerable percentage end up signing a timeshare contract. There are lots of timeshare complaints, and the industry has been negatively criticized because of the big number of scams that have been committed in the last years. Some timeshare companies are accused of using fraudulent tactics to sell holiday ownerships, while others affirm that the units are overpriced. Nevertheless, the biggest complaint about timeshares is that they are almost impossible to sell, and the resale value is incredibly low.
