EMB Construction Inc. Merisa Bajgoric WARNING: EMB will have you do a ton of work with no intention of PAYING Lawrenceville , Georgia

I was contacted in late October/ early November 2011 by Merisa Bajgoric to perform property preservation work in my area. I told Merisa from the start that this was a start-up business that did not have alot of cash flow and couldn't do the job if payment would take months. I was promised that my invoices would be paid within 30 days. I did my part by completing the work orders within the time frame they were looking for and submitting all photos.

After about a month of work, I stopped receiving work orders. When I started calling and emailing about payment, I was ignored. No return calls and no response to emails. It wasn't until a few months later, when I had my accountant start trying to collect that I received any responses. I kept hearing "checks are going out next week", but no checks ever showed.

At one point I was told "your check is in the mail, you should receive it in 5-7 business days." I waited 2 weeks, knowing it should only take about 2-3 days for USPS to deliver from GA to FL, then was told "your check was returned to us. Is your address....?" It was an address that wasn't even close to mine. I've included my address in every email I've sent to them as well as in the paperwork I filled out upon starting work for them. I once again gave Merisa my correct address, and once again waited.

After several more threatening emails from my accountant we finally received a check. Somehow, the check was conveniently about half the amount owed. AFTER 6 MONTHS! Now I'm waiting for the remainder to be paid and am experiencing the same issues I've always had, either no response to my messages or the usual "checks are going out next week.

This company is a rip-off. I'm hoping anyone out there that is contacted by EMB to do some work will do some research first and find all of these complaints. I wish I did. They have no intention on paying anyone, just giving everyone the run-around. For those of you that have been ripped off, I suggest filing a complaint with the state attorney's office as well as the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.org) These people need to be held responsible for operating such a shady business.
