A friend and I were in Little Five Points on Halloween and decided to stop at Starbucks.  The lot there is managed by Empire Parking Service and they had an attendant on duty.  After getting our Starbucks, we went for a quick walk and returned upon finishing our drinks.
When I returned I found my car booted and looked around for the attendant who would have had time to boot it.  After not finding anyone I called the number and a gentleman in plain clothing came to help.  He happened to be the same man who watched my friend and I walk off, said nothing to us, and then booted my car.  I watched this occur to two other people as I left the lot in my car.
He acknowledged he knew we were customers, but pointed to a sign that warned that non-customers would be booted and said we weren't able to leave my car in the lot.  Of course, the sign was positioned so that there would be no natural inclination to read it prior to leaving the lot.
The main problem I had, and a problem I voiced with the company, was that the employee on the lot was not sent with a credit car machine and called several people with my card number.  He first asked if the other employee he called had a machine only after a couple attempts where he gave out my number and then found out there was no machine.
When I told the owner of the company, Chip, he couldn't care less about an employee calling around with a credit card number and expressed if nothing fraudulent had been charged it wasn't a concern.  Overall, I'd say Empire Parking Services shows a complete disregard for common courtesy and professionalism.  I will not be giving my business to any business who contracts with them to oversee their lots and encourage others to avoid them as well.
