Unfortunately, I too fell for the possible $2000 Mthly salary & easy to earn mthly bonuses just for doing demos! Oh yeah don't let me forget the inticing new 'Welcome Aboard ESG, Inc.' incentives promised to us the 1st day of training, such as: an evening limo ride to nice dinner, trip to Hawaii for 2 just(within a few weeks of starting reasons being "just because"), a healthy training paycheck the 1st Tues. following the 4 days of training which was conveniently rescheduled for another 2 weeks out, for no specific reason!

I'm sure alot of you are saying why would you believe such garbage, well I was skeptical until I went to the 1st day of training, then Ty (the 2nd in charge next to his CEO/Brother) had such convincing proof, like a copy of an employee's bonus paycheck of almost $2000 along with (supposedly) the already chosen limo company but we were going to get to pick the type of limo & the restaurant, and the travel plans for Hawaii were already in the making so I was convinced until the 3rd or 4th day when Ty's promises started fading as he began adding several unmentioned work tasks (a ridiculous # of demos & a surprise ride in the company van dropped off in neighborhoods expected to conduct door-to-door sales!)

Not only did I waste 6 full days of my time for ESG, Inc., but my hardwork was never compensated by Ty @ ESG, Inc. and the more I check into ESG, Inc., the more I'm on a mission to expose them for the scam artists they are!!!!!!!!!

As for the Kirby office dba ESG, his rubuttal sounds great, but also remember his sales abilities got him to run that office and so he is obvisouly good with words.

I will only say that the whole sales base is based on 60 demos that you have to get yourself or have a canvasser ( someone who only knocks on doors to be able to get a Kirby demostrator in your house ) get you in a house. Getting 4 people a day to say yes is hard, but also the demo takes 1 to 3 hours sometimes alot more. Add up the time knocking on doors trying to get the "right kind of people" to say yes, its very very hard to get 60 demos, especially if your brand new at sales.

I got into a Kirby office when it was going thourgh a weird time and one of the main guys was leaving and asked if I wanted to go help him hire people for other offices around the US and I said yes. I went all over the US and learned how different offices are truly ran... some are truly ridiculous, dis honest, just plain liars and these kind of offices train salesmen to be bad salesmen and thats why Kirby has such a bad name.

The machine itself is great! I love the Kirby Vacuum, it is absolutely awesome, btu some of the Kirby sales staff are bad bad people or really they are just willing to do ANYTHING to make money.... hustling with a legit product. They were sucked into many promises when they started with Kirby and those kinda people REALLY needs the money Kirby employers really try say it can provide. Those people try and try and sometimes they make one or 2 good sales and make a quick $800 to $1400 and when that make that one time most NEVER want to quit. Unfortunately Kirby doesn't always work that easy and those people start to realize that so they try ANYTHING they can think just to make a sale.

Thats why so many bad things are said about Kirby.

Now why does Kirby employers need new salesmen and promise s much to them, knowing these people wont make 60 demos? I know exactly why. The whole training process does 2 things at once, it does train the people to get to know the machine so they can sale it but thats NOT the main reason. The main reason they train 10 - 25 people at a time is because once these people see how great Kirby is, they want one too and the employers after the 3 - 5 day training period tells the class to go home and "show off" the Kirby to everyone they know so they can "practice" demostrating the Kirby. In reality the new Kirby salesmen is showing off the Kirby and the employer is going to try to sale the Kirby to the person who saw the Kirby. Now this person who wants the Kirby money, has obvisouly been doing bad in life and they are shwoing off the Kirby to thier mom, grandma or some relative and mom wants thier kid to be doing great and sees the Kirby is a great machine, so she decides to buy one. Alot of sales are generated this way... this is half of Kirby sales and some offices it's 90% of sales.

What I dont understand is why they do it this way. I know it makes money for today but trying to run a successful business in the long run like this will NEVER work... it pisses off everyone. If you buy a Kirby your buying the best, but I hope you don't have a broke salesmen... they will try to sell it at a high price and tell you whatever you want to hear... so long as you buy it.

Also I want to address more on ESG rebuttal letter, but I'll do that on another post.

ripoff verified from craigslist post

POSTED: Tuesday, October 07, 2008

The owner's rebuttal sounds ok but it's obvious from the company's denver craigslist ad that they are being less than fully honest. Here is their post from today, Oct 7th, 2008:

**********
Fall season is here and were gettin busy!

ESG Inc... A well established branch of a Fortune 500
Company is in need of 18-25 individuals to start immediately!

This is a Customer Service position dealing with client needs
And answering questions. NO EXPERIENCE REQ. But some
Customer service experience is helpful!

Must be 18 or older and able to start as soon as this week!

**Serious applicants only... This is a full time and poss. long term position!**

CALL NOW FOR IMMEDIATE INTERVIEW! (303)464-8881

************

"Customer service position dealing with customer needs and answering questions"??? Yeah, maybe, but if they were open and upfront, they would say it's a sales position. They make it sound like the positions deal with inbound, current client calls, when in reality, it's cold-calling door to door sales generation.

Thank you ripoff report, I almost fell for this one!

#1 REBUTTAL Individual responds

6 days of work? Who was cheated?

AUTHOR: Tai - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 10, 2008

First of all, I don't like to point fingers and will submit this rebuttal kindly and without insulting the poster. I am sure that was their original intention as well but a confused person can sometimes go a little overboard.
Let me please clarify the situation: As the head trainer and hiring manager at ESG, Inc. (the aforementioned Amitai Y. Gross) I set all of our policy on training and development of the new people working out of our office. Along with that, I evaluate them for any first-week training bonuses.

The poster, "KLH" seems to think the company and me as cheaters and liars, offering false promises. I'd like to first shine light on the fact that we offer a monthly salary. It is $2000/mo for working at least five days a week, one must set up and show our equipment at least 60 times in that month and there are 0 sales required of our entry-level people.

That salary is real and is written in our contracts we sign during orientation. The 60 appointments is a bare minimum set to make sure people aren't getting paid for not working. A person can actually accomplish up to 4 appts per day. If one were to work 30 days in a month, that would be 120 appts. We cut that in half to make it easier on our newer people and so as not to overwork them.

As far as the monthly and weekly bonuses, those are not for working with customers. Our new dealers are expected to show the equipment to our customers to generate an interest so that a member of our senior sales team may sell it. If it is sold, they will receive commission on the sale. If that commission adds up to be more than $2000, they keep that. We don't add it on top of our base salary or else we would go belly up and broke. Our monthly and weekly bonuses are offered as incentives to generate sales and are based off of orders placed during in-home demonstrations.
I am very honest in my interview and training about how our company works. The poster must have been confused.

I never promised $2000 after working only 6 days with us. To expect that much is absurd.
Also, the amount of money, time and effort the company, as well as myself personally, put into the training is astronomical and for someone to take advantage of that and then quit after working one day (training is five days so six days means this person only worked for one day) is cheating us of our money and time we put into them.

KLH, I'm very sorry you didn't fully understand my training, I hope we can resolve this personally. You obviously have our number so feel free to call and speak with me, I'm always available. However, I do not appreciate being accused of being a scam artist and wonder who was really cheated since I put days of hard work and preparation into you.
