I worked for Employment One for a very short time so this is straight from the horse's mouth. First of all, their "service" is hyped up and does not produce the things they claim it does. Many of the "exclusive" jobs they carry are easily found on the internet. Their "job development" staff is simply the salespeople who work in their sales dungeon (a small room with no windows) calling businesses out of the phone book to ask if they are hiring.

Many of the jobs in their antiquated computer system are no longer hiring, but they keep those jobs in the database in order to make people think they really have "hundreds" of jobs. I have seen many posts from former clients of E1 stating that they sent out resumes to some of the supposedly "available" jobs at E1 and were told that the positions were filled and had been filled for some time.

I have personally seen them sign up 18 year olds with no work history at all and make them believe they are going to get a job that pays $18 an hour. Are you kidding me? The majority of the "will train" jobs are low-paying. The experienced positions often call for someone with years of training, and again, a lot of these jobs are simply left in the computer system after they are filled in order to give clients a false sense of job availability.

I have seen them sign up Amish clients even though many of the industrial and labor jobs require travel and technical knowledge. E1 will take anyone's money and supposedly "guarantee" their service, but good luck getting a refund if you are not happy with them.
Their "customer service" line is a joke...again, you will be routed to salespeople who are not interested in helping you. They are only interested in having people come in and pay $185 for a bogus service so that their paycheck will be bigger.

The employees are in a revolving door. While I was there the longest-tenured employee had been there maybe six months. They threaten salespeople with being fired if they do not produce and encourage them to ignore callers' questions so that they can convince them to come in and pay.

My advice to anyone reading this is to stay FAR, FAR AWAY from Employment One. They claim to have a good rating with the BBB, but if you check on that you will see many complaints from consumers. You would be much better off going to a temp agency and sacrificing a small amount from your paycheck rather than paying this boiler-room operation $185 to do something you can do yourself.
