Here's the REAL low down on these guys.....their name used to be Prodigy Payment Systems, but soon after they began, their reputation got so bad that they had to change their name to Encore. From employees to their customers, these guys have all kinds of different ways to get you.

My biggest complaint is simple. They bring me into a room, and have me sign basic paperwork, saying they will pay me 36,000 a year plus incentives. Sounds good, right? I'm a college graduate of The University of North Texas, and came out of college with a 3.9 GPA, so i'm not exactly dumb. For maybe about two to three days, we listened to others on the phone that were in the same position we were going to be in. On the FOURTH DAY OF TRAINING, we were told we had to go out and drive around to a bunch of random appointments all over the DFW metroplex with NO GAS RE-EMBURSMENT.

They said after the first week and a half that they "felt sorry for us, and that everyone had pitched in to get us 50$ gift cards" Yeah, ok.....make me feel EVEN WORSE about spending MY OWN MONEY TO DRIVE OUT TO THESE WORTHLESS APPOINTMENTS. The appointments were scheduled by a calling center of all places...so, these people are just concerned with saying something to get the employer to say yes like three times, and then the appointment is final.

Half the time, the employer is confused and doesn't know what they just did. These are the appointments that I had to go and drive around to for two weeks. 99% of the appointments were not there, or did not want me to come back, and then, Encore gets mad at me and asks me why I can't perform? THEY DIDN'T TRAIN ME TO BE AN OUTSIDE SALESPERSON, and last time I checked, I SIGNED UP TO BE A TEAM LEADER!!! SO they decided to try me out on the phones (telemarketing). They tell me to get five business owners to fax over a copy of their banking statement within a FOUR DAY TIME PERIOD....AS IN THE WEEK OF JULY THE FOURTH.

I was laughing by this point.....it's ludicris to ask someone to even get a hold of a business owner this particular week of the year, much less get any of these people to give out info like this to someone they don't know. So after four days, I had THREE STATEMENTS, and ONE OF THEM MADE A SALE! They pull me in an office on Thursday afternoon, and tell me i'm not good enough, and that i'm fired. RIP OFF??? WASTE OF TIME??? ALL OF THE ABOVE.

How is it that you expect someone to do a job they aren't supposed to do? Why do you tell someone they are hired on as a lead sales manager, when really they have to go through hell to get there? It never said that anywhere in my contract, nor did anyone ever tell me that I would be FIRED if I didn't do well within a week.

Seriously, you come out of college and think you are a sales manager ? Does it not make sense that you should have experience performing the job you THINK you are qualified to lead others in doing ?

You think the appointments were going to be lay downs. That they were going to be waiting pen in hand for you to show up ?

It is called SALES not order taker or paperwork finisher.

The definition of sales is persuading someone to do something today they were unprepared to do. It seems you did not have this ability. That does not make you a failure, just as it does not make Encore a bad company for making a hiring mistake.

You give me someone willing to work 30 hours a week, knock 20 doors a day and I guarantee they will succed in this industry.
