Every report that I have read on this site is accurate regarding Encore Payment Systems.

I personally know because I was in management for Encore Payment Systems. I was NOT a team leader, sales person, or a call center rep. I was a manager for Encore Payment Systems located at Arapaho Rd in Addison, Texas. I know what "really" goes on. The founders of this company used to work for a variety of other processors. All of them were in management positions but none of them have the years experience that they state.

The founders COMBINED have many years experience but Encore has only been in business since 2004. Last year they formed another company called Prodigy to gain more business. Basically, the new company can go after the dis-satisfied, lost, or previously contracted consumers that Encore has contact information for. Do you get it?

They already have the contact information and in some cases a lot more personal information due to a previous business relationship that had gone wrong. They know what the previous problems were so they go in as a "new" company promising to be better than the consumer's previous processor.

Guess who that previous processor was, Encore. Plus, they use the same areas to obtain business. This company buys leads from another company and re-uses them with the "new" company. Over time, Encore has earned a very blemished reputation. They have to continue to gain business but with another name. Overall, most processors are in business to rip you a new one. It is just the business.

Encore is the "Hyundai" in this business but explains that they are the "Cadillac". Their customer support department is a joke! Most of them have no clue about the processes or even how to speak correctly. These people are handling your personal and financial information and few of them have any college and barely made it out of high school. Not to be offensive but most of their employees in that department are the equivalent to minimum wage earners.

The only department that has some knowledge is their technical support department which is NOT open 24/7 as they claim. Most of the sales department including the sales managers, team leaders and trainers are not even college degreed. All of these people handle personal information and moneys for their customers. Would you be OK with some random, uneducated person handling your info and money? Social security numbers, bank account info, creadit card numbers, tax I.D. numbers etc...One last example of the type of people that "MOST" of these people are. The police are called out to Encore at least several times a month due to employee issues.

Bottom line. This company is a joke. They are not too worried about their employees or their customer's. In this business new customers come every day. As long as they can continue to B.S. their way into businesses, it will continue. If you are looking for a processor, I suggest using your local bank. At least you will have someone local or personable to meet with in the case that you need assistance. You will never see your sales rep. or sales team leader again with Encore.

For the record, I left this company on my own. I was not asked to leave. I was one of the top employees and was recognized for that. I left due to the guilt that this company produces. There you have it, the truth from the horses mouth. Never lease any credit card machine or buy a machine that has propreitary software.

Encore can offer compatible rates but so can anyone else. You will never get the customer service that they promise. If your business operates on weekends or after 6 P.M. M-F Encore will not be able to assist you in the event of a problem. You WILL have to wait until Monday. They sub out their customer support department to another company and they can't help you at all. The technical support is only M-F not the 24/7 that Encore promises.

Encore and Prodigy are total money hungry businesses. The founders are very happy driving their Lexus and BMW vehicles. The "scam selling" technique is giving them a very nice lifestyle! If you would like to see those expensive cars, just drive to the headquarters. You will find their cars right up front but not in the "normal employee" area.
