My car was being repaired (was rear-ended); Auto Body shop made a reservation at Enterprise.  They were expecting me.  Sales agent has only 2 cars...one has only 6000 miles, and all the bells and whistles, like Blue Tooth.  He says it's a "sweet ride" and that he took it home with him last night.  We go outside to see it, and it looks okay.  He makes quite a production about how if I don't take Enterprise's rental insurance (at $16.99/day), I will be charged for the damage repair, "loss of use" while the car is being repaired, should it get damaged while I have it.  Never mentions "Depreciation", never mentions "Administrative" fees.  I know that my own car insurance company will cover any accident, just like they would my own car, so I do not take their insurance, especially since the car is costing me $2.10/day and the rest of the cost is covered through my car insurance.

I have the car 10 days, the last 2 of which it sat in my driveway, which is 60 feet away from the road.  It went to work with me and back.  My employer has a parking garage, and NO ONE plays ball in it (you can probably see where this is going).  I walk around the car myself 5 minutes before I return it.  All is good.  The agent (so-called branch manager) comes back inside from inspecting it, and tell me he needs to show me something.  I am screaming at him before we even get out the door; i just looked at the car and I KNOW there is no damage.  The first thing he says is "You cannot see this damage unless you are standing at a certain angle".  And sure enough-a softball-sized dent without paint chipping on the rear left quarter-panel.  Move 6 inches to the left or right, and it cannot be seen.  I am dumbfounded-how could this have happened? I couldn't have been more careful. It is not possible that this damage occurred while I had the car-but there seems to be no other expanation-YET!  The agent insists that the car was inspected upon retur from the previous renter, and if the damage was present, it would have been seen then.

I insist on all names of everyone involved, including the kid who rented the car to me.  Oh, him?  He doesn't work here anymore.  Hmmm..really?  The kid who told me how wonderful the car drove the night before I took it no longer works here?  Clearly, he damaged the car that night, and waited for the first sucker to walk in the followng morning to rent the car to, knowing that the damage would likely  not be seen when the car is inspected before driving away.  They charge my credit card an additional $250.01, which I refuse to sign for.  At this point, I'm still shocked and confused as to how this could happen.

I am telling my husband this story at home when my 18 year old son walks in and knows exactly what I am talking about.  He says, "Oh-yeah.  The dent on the driver's side in the back".  I ask him when he saw it, and he says the first time he saw the car.  He said he assumed I knew about it and never thought to mention it to me.

You cannot see the damage in the pictures I have.  My auto body shop says it could have been repaired easily for under $200, as there was no paint damage.  They have billed me, in total, $332 for damage repair, $33 for depreciation, $65 for loss of use while it was repaired for supposedly 2.175 days, and a $50 "administrative" fee.

Their damage recovery unit employs at least one person who has no vocabulary and is incapable of carrying on a conversation, even by e-mail; he cannot speak on the phone either.

Little does Enterprise know...but...Karma rules!

Had enough...

AUTHOR: Idratherwalk - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Chris- If you truly work for Enterprise, I am quite sure you have access to my e-mail. Believe me, your "Damage Recovery Specialists" know my name.  If you want to speak to me so badly, you can e-mail me.  I have had enough of this nonsense.  Enterprise got its money, and that is all it is interested in. All I know is that I knew exactly where that car was the whole time I had it, and there was absolutely no opportunity for it to be damaged.  Never in a million years will I step foot in your door again!

Got price wrong..

AUTHOR: Idratherwalk - ()

POSTED: Monday, August 12, 2013

In fairness, the rental insurance offered for sale byEnterprise was $15.00 per day, not the $16.99 I stated.  Just checked the

contract.  Did not want anything but the truth posted here.

Enterprise has quite a sense of humor!

Just received a letter from one of Enterprise's "damage recovery specialists" telling me that any reservations I make will not be honored until I pay them what they think I owe them...ummmm...that's NOT gonna be a problem, Enterprise...or National...or Alamo.  You will never see me again, nor any of my friends, family, and likely some co-workers who are also appalled at your behavior.  Karma...
