I checked my online bank account and saw an unathorized charge of $9.00. I immediately checked the internet to see if this had happened to anyone else and I can see it has. I called my bank and filed a claim of unathorized charges. They will be investigating this company, and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

In regard to the employee that explained how Entertainment Rewards is not using unfair practices:

Since I've been caught with similar frustrations with subscription services in the past, I'm one of the consumers who now scrutinizes the information on any 'trial' or 'free reward' offers. In fact, that's what brought me to this thread and prompts this reply. I just made a ticketmaster purchase, clicked the $25 cash reward link and am consequently enrolled in the Entertainment Rewards trial period. I did see that I (apparently) can cancel this membership easily by using the Cancel link on the home page- which is more than I can say for most subscription services. Though it looks like it could be a cost effective service for my needs, I'm going to try getting some discounts to see if there inhibiting restrictions on these that would make it a poor value. If not, I will definitely subscribe.

My thoughts on the rebuttal to the various complatins here:
You are correct in that Ticketmaster purchasers have every opportunity to decline the service being offered. However, the number of complaints given here are an indication that people at least *feel* that they've been scammed because because the product without at least a minimal level of disclosure and confirmation, such as: "Clicking yes will enroll you into a trial period for our service. During the trial period you may cancel. If you do not, you will be charged ##$ monthly". It is a little frustrating that so many internet and financial based services do not disclose such information up front due to the thinking that customers won't buy a product once they understand how much they have to pay for it; noone likes being mislead. I believe that most folks will gladly pay for a product once he or she learns that it provides a good value for their money. Any other method of selling works to the contrary principle: people shouldn't be able to assess the value of the product before buying it because they're less likely to do so, resulting in lower sales. Don't companies want people to feel good about their purchase, for a product that offers them a good value? There's a reason used car salesmen have a negative stigma. People ultimately value up front honesty from those who they buy their products from, and that's what often keeps them coming back to spend more. That's certainly the case for me.

I am an employee for Entertainment Rewards and have seen this time and time again. People who state they did not do this.

The pages are clearly marked when you go thru the process of signing up for this service. After clicking the yes button, you are even offered the chance to go the the Entertainment website to review the offers which are available to you.

You are sent out 3 emails during the 30 day free trial.. unfortunately it is not our responsibility to make sure you read them or not.

We have many customer who are signed to the rewards program and just because a few people who don't read , pay attention or understand that by placing either your name or your email address someplace twice and hitting either yes or agree is an electronic signature..which means it's as valid as writing your name on paper, doesn't mean that we are crooks, thieves, a scam or whatever else you chose to call it. It just shows that you don't know enough about e-commerce to be buying things on the internet.

The company has a no refund policy..and why shouldn't they.. we send you 3 e-mails during the free trial... we send you a monthly e-mail with updates to the site. Why is it our fault that you do not pay attention to these things?

If you are going to purchase items on the internet then I suggest you understand the laws of e-commerce and credit card and bank laws in general. First if you let anyone use your card, regardless of what they do with it, your liable. If you place your name or address in anywhere twice and click yes or agree, it's an electronic signature. If you do not dispute or if you pay those charges for 2 months in a row you except them as valid charges and neither the credit card companies, the banks or the companies that you are paying are required to refund your money.

It's not the companies that are conducting business on the net to more or less babysit what you do while you are on the net. It's yours to govern your own actions.

I work for Entertainment Pub. Inc. This is in NO way a scam when the customer gos to ticketmaster.com thay buy ther tickets on the conformation page they are then ask if that would like to recive eather 10 or 25 dollars " cash back reward" on the next order of tickets from ticket master at that time if that did not want to enroll that just leave the page if thay would like to look into the offer they then have to click on the next button they are then taken to a page that explaines everything to them (if the customer does not wat the program at this all thay had to do was close the page) it also lets them know that by entering thier e-maill address 2 time it will give ticket master authorization to send ther name address and credit card info to Entertainment rewards for benifits proccessing we then sent out the first of 3 e-mail that letting them know about the account and how to get back to our page all customer are under a 30 day free trail pierod so the customer can cancel at any time.
