I signed up with Epenzio in March 2001 for
$2700 or $89.95 per month. Their service may
be OK but since I have not had any hits on
my web site, it is of no value to me. They are
charging my credit card $25.00 per month, and
charging me against my checking account, $89.95.
Since I am not having any hits to my website
this money is coming out of my personal
savings.
I think there are a lot better services
available, and a lot cheaper services
aVAILABLE.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

You don't have to take it

AUTHOR: Arthur - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 20, 2002

I'm am not sure what recourse you may have with epenzio or Traveler's Acceptance corp. since you did use their service. They are not responsible to make your business successful. That remains upon YOU. Having said that, here is how I was able to get out of the jaded epenzion-3-day-and-your-in-for-life 'contract' (I put that in quotes because I call it a lease as it says on the paperwork).

First, it helps if you have documented things. The BBB of UTAH has several letter about epenzio on file (some of them my own). Since you have given your credit card or bank account info, they probably take the money out automatically. I had to put a stop on those auto-debits to my account. Usually, that gets their attention and they start actually listening to you when you need help on the phone. It is a drastic measure though.

In my case, I never actually used their services. I never had the website set up and subsequently, never used the merchant account. After many letters back and forth with epenzio and the BBB as the middle-man, the BBB finally suggested an arbitration hearing. These can be done in person, on the phone, or in writing. Both parties a have to agree to it and the method that will be used. You will get a chance to submit arguements, give a rebuttal, and perhaps even a second rebuttal. I won my hearing (Yippee) and the lease was declared void.

They were originally ordered to give me a refund, but that changed since I originally said I would be happy just cancelling the lease and writing off the paid portion as a business expense. I hope that helps you.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

e_Penzio Problem

AUTHOR: Gene - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, February 12, 2002

Unfortunatly 98% of sll web sites do not make money. The complaintant has the typical internetweb site operator problem of not having traffic to their site> The lack of traffic is a marketing problem, not a merchant bank problem.

We have a successful web site on the internet and use e-Penzio and are very happy with their service. I would be happy to talk to the complainer if that would help.
