It seems I am one of many. Euro International agreed a contract to ship our goods from Calgary to the UK.
I paid the bill and they collected the goods, saying that we had met the requirements.
Once the goods arrived in port they refused to send a Bill of Lading and demanded and extra $1680 CAD.
They would not talk on the phone and would only resend the demand. Eventually I had to pay up.
The GB company handling final delivery directed me to this website, as they told me that they often had similar trouble with this company.
Could everyone who has been scammed by them send in a complaint to the Quebec Commercial Certification Office and see if we can get these rogues banned.

Hello.I just want to say the follow:

They did EXACTLY the same to me.From Central Canada to South America.

I sign a contract for a 20 ' container, then I change for a 40' container for my goods and vehicle.

I pay in advance two month before the dead line.I ask them if there were something else I should be aware of it.They told me maybe if the gas price goes up then It will be some adjustament.Which I agree. But once my container was on the ship on the  way to the destination port.I receive a e-mail saying the follow:

I have to pay another CD$1,500.00  plus they didn't fill the bill of leading.Or something.

They claim for estra cost: wraping my goods which I told them I don't need that. But they did it anyways. At my cost.Wich by the way was a good wraping I should say.

They claim for extra cost: attaching the vehicle to the container. Is not diference then attaching a vehicle from a 20' container to a 40' container. Is the same job anyways. Which I pay in my fisrt contract.I was outside the container when they did this.they use only 3 rope straps: that cost around CD$500.00 just alone.Basically I pay twice for the same service: wraping and attaching.

After some arguments on the phone and e-mails. After they ignore me .I had to pay whatever they want it or they will keept my goods plus my vehicle if I not paying. Also some of this people were absolutly rude and ignorant on the phone and e-mails.They even  scream at me on the phone. It was my worst nightmare ever.I have all documents and e-mails from the begining to the end to prove this..I chose not to take legal actions because is not worth it those CD$1,500.00.I will spend more money on lawers then getting my money back. But in this way it will be more efective on the customers point of view.I want other people to be aware of this company and their methodos of riping-off people. Please, Do not make business with eurotransport.

Dear anonymous

Dear anonymous,
how good that we are finally communicating, if only through a third party.
Let me respond to your rebuttal as we seem to be on different wavelengths. You seem to be focussed on money and justifying how you acquire it. I am concerned about how I was made to "feel" by a company who had possession of many of my valued possessions and then used strange methods to get more money from me. Try to imagine how your customers feel when you treat them the way you do? Let me explain. When there was no news about our goods arriving I contacted the GB agents employed to deliver them. It was they who informed me that you had blocked delivery until you got more money. You did not provide that duty of care. Then they again informed me that you had also withheld an original Bill of Lading so that Customs and Excise could not release them. I did not here this from you - all I got was a short email asking for almost double the payment. Moving home is an emotional experience at best of times, so to feel that you are being held to ransom and are powerless to do anything about it is not a nice place to be in. So my lack of respect for you is based on my feeling of being violated, not on money.
I suggest you review your customer "service" procedures and get some HR training.

Finally I wonder if you could solve a mathematical mystery for me please? I have 2 science degrees and have taught Math and Science, so calculating volume is something I thought I knew how to do.
Your Calgary agents informed me that I was not shipping excess and when my goods were delivered they were on a wooden pallet which was 2.4m x 1m. They were plastic wrapped. The highest item was a mattress which was1.5m high. No other item came near that and the pallet was not full.
Now to me 2.4x 1x1.5 = 3.6cbm which given the space on the pallet means it was our agreed volume.
My mystery is this? Is there a maritime way of measuring volume which I am missing, as neither I nor your delivery agent could work it out? (Thank you for the pallet by the way.)

Now I am sure that you want to build a good reputation in your field, so I am only trying to help. I do not know how many people have complained like I have, I only saw 7 other Canadian complaints on this site and some American ones, I haven't done wider research yet or looked back at the service record of your company when it had another trading name, but surely 8 people who take the time to make complaints online will only be a part of a bigger whole. So let me encourage you to earn the reputation you so desire.

Euro Transport honor its customer

AUTHOR: From Director - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, July 20, 2012

To Mr. Blacklock. Dear Sir, you have wrongly accused Euro Transport.  Looking at your contract which you signed, it was clear that we would make a shipping for you based on 3.5 cbm to the UK The origin services were to be done apart from the total estimated cost at an hourly rate plus material.  We have honor the agreement, we went to your place and have made the work according to your contract.  The shipment size came up to be 5.3 cbm, higher than the 3.5 cbm, The agent went to your place, they pick up the goods, wrap and ship to the export terminal all for $821
For an international move, i think that its way far from being cheating you.  Any international mover in Calgary would have charged you alot more for this.  You actually Sir, dishonor the entire internet communauty by accusing falsely a company because you do not respect the conditions of the contract you have signed.  Your contract is very simple and no catch, it is clearly stated the estimated cost based on 3.5 cbm and we would charge you the origin services, so can you tell the communauty what is wrong, where we failed?  By saying you are another victims sir, would you know the number of move we do in a year?  Would you know that in a period of 5 years we had very few complaints!!  The sample reasons, we explained everything to our clients and we make the contract very clear.  You have decided to get a quote over the internet and we gave you the best possible deal.  Unfortunately, we need to reject your complaint.
