Evo is the worst credit card processor I have ever encountered so far. Nothing with them is as advertised.

Despite of our repeated complaints they have failed to address our repeated concerns related to the lengthily remittance of funds (1 week instead of promised 48 hours), limited monthly amount and limited transaction ticket amount. None of these limitations were disclosed upon signing the agreement.

The agent that signs the clients Millennium Payments is independent and what they tell you is worthless.

Note it is almost impossible to get this company to call you back. They simply do not call, no matter what.

When I finally got fed up and asked them to cancel the account they promised that that will be done in 30 days.

The 30 days came and nothing happened so I sent them a written request after which nothing happened too. So, nothing also happened after 2 phone calls.

In 6 weeks after the first written cancellation request I sent a second one which led to a phone call from a representative who started to threaten me with a 500$ cancellation fee and by telling me that their service does not have the limitations that I am experiencing. Note the rep is telling me that the service is great and that it just cant be true whatever I had been experiencing over a period of one year.

I checked the agreement that I signed and found no penalty clause. Also, Millennium Payments told me that I can get out at any time.

As it turned out, Millennium Payments (the agent) did not send me the first 20 pages (they simply cut those pages out) that included the penalty clause. The forms include a list of all the possible fees and description of those fees but there is no mention of the cancellation fee.

When I brought this to the reps attention she said it is all my fault I should have noticed that the agreement that I signed started with page #21 and since I signed the page 23, I am also liable for the penalties enlisted on the earlier pages.

After all of the above- she said all the bad people I dealt before are gone now and I have no choice, I just must stay with them and enjoy their great service.

We are now 3 months after the original cancellation was requested. I still cant get rid of them and they still keep charging our bank account.

Conclusion- stay as far as you can from EVO Canada, they are bunch of shameless deceiving crooks and will do anything to get you in and then, once you are in, they will do everything to keep their recurring fees going. They are like a malicious virus you just cant get rid of them.

Minimum MDR

AUTHOR: Brianna - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 28, 2012

In fact, the minimum MDR fee is a standard of $20 a month. That is what EVO has been charging me. Also what our old processing company charged. You were definitely being ripped off!

Someone at EVO finally called me back yesterday and they are willing to waive the cancellation fee. I faxed off the cancellation, so we will see in a couple of days if they try to take more.

evo canada - monthly payment

AUTHOR: Joe - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, February 25, 2012

Yes, once we stopped processing paynents through them, they started charging me ~$130 /month as the minimum fee in case if there are no transactions.

That would be another interesting thing to check if it ever comes to a court hearing because I have never really attempted to check the minimum rate. I would not be surprised if the real numbers do not add up and do not match the agreement.

Joe, if they do take you to court, please let me know. I will be there on your behalf with all my stuff against them. Did they say why they were taking $150 min? Mine is 63.85. (including machine)

UPDATE

AUTHOR: Joe - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, February 24, 2012

They had kept charging my account for 4 months (~$150/month in minimum fees) following the cancellation request. After that I complained to our bank and we closed one of the accounts and placed a stop payment on the other account. In the 5th month following the cancellation request they tried to charge the 500$ cancellation fee but it was rejected by the stop payment order.

They recently sent me some warning letters about the non-payment and breach of contract. I am looking forward for them to sue me and would love to present all this material in front of a judge. :)

Agreed!

AUTHOR: Brianna - (Canada)

Your situation is scary similar to mine. EVO (Evil) Canada are liars!

I also did not receive all the pages of the contract. The one with the terms of agreement was not there. I called them about the cancellation fee and they said it was on that page. I told them I didn't receive that page and they said, basically, too bad.

My contract is 10 pages and it only says there are 10 pages to fax. So, it was deliberately left out for sure. I am continuing my fight against this company. I was TOLD there was no cancellation fee. If I can just find that original salesman, I can call him out on what he said.

So, are you still paying? We're thinking about not.
