Experian or Freecreditreport.com Get your credit report for $1.00. Online offer. Internet
I needed a credit report for a job I was looking for. My wife googled "free credit report" and got Experian's link advertising link as "Get your credit report for $1.00". She ordered the report and paid $1.00 with a credit card. Few days later we saw a charge on out checking account under Experian for $20.00. I called Experian to ask them about the additional charge after the $1.00. The representative kept saying it was for a 'membership fee with Experian' my wife never signed up for. Experian pretty much said they did nothing wrong and they could not refund the money either.
There is a link on WWW.Experian.com that says "
When you order your $1 Credit Report and Score here, you will begin your 7-day trial membership in Experian Credit TrackerSM Credit Monitoring. You may cancel your trial membership at any time within 7 days without charge. If you decide not to cancel, your membership will continue and you will be billed for just $19.95/month for each month that you continue your membership.
Well it's all good and fine if you know you signed up for a $20.00 membership. But how likely are you or me to read the find print after clicking a link that says, "Check you credit Now for $1". Total scam..
