I signed on with this company about a year ago and it was a major mistake. Within the first week of applying I was offered a one day assignment. I took it because I was happy to work and desperately needed the work. Over the next few months, I was offered very little if any work. On one assignment, I developed a professional rapport with the employer and they often contacted the office whenever they needed help. That wasn't frequent, because the business wasn't thriving. My first incident came when I was offered a two-day assignment for a convention for a teaching group based out of another city. The first day went pretty smoothly after being "schooled" by one of the other workers about the temper that the person who was over the even had with another worker the first day of the event. (She went in the morning, and I went late in the afternoon.)

The second day of the convention, the lady in question (the client) came a little late, and her assistants had approved for me to go into the dining area and get either coffee or juice. I had just gotten a cup of coffee and was returning to the registration desk when she stormed into the dining area and angrily confronted me about getting coffee. I explained that I was given permission to get the coffee. She attempted to take it out of my hand and I stated that I would put it back on the table myself. She got angry. We both walked out back to the registration table where as I was turned around to pick up a pen to give a registrant, she grabbed my arm and turned me around to confront me. I got alarmed, because I felt that she was going to try to strike me. I told her that I was leaving. She told me that was best.

I got in my car and called Towanda, the Express Employment person who sent me on the assignment, and left her a message, because the office was closed. I waited to hear from her on Monday, and never heard from her. I had to call her and discuss the matter. All I got was.."Oh..that's unfortunate." Not.."were you hurt in any way...?" Do you want to press charges?" I was esentially physicall assaulted!  A few months later, they sent me on an assignment in the middle of nowhere to act as a computer rep for an airplane parts company. Not only was the company in the middle of nowhere, but the owner expected me to care for the two dogs and a cat as well! I'm not a pet sitter! Frankly, the dogs were vicious and barked like crazy when I got out my car. They were upset when I called to tell them that I was afraid; of being out in the middle of nowhere by myself and of the dogs that I feared were going to bite me!

Okay...last but not least...they send out to another company in the middle of nowhere where during the course of the interview, I'm told that they have a daily prayer circle. I don't know who these people are or who they worship. I felt uneasy and came back and told Kimberly Josey of my concern. She just got silent on the phone and felt that it should have been something that I should just roll with. I became sick before starting the assignment and contacted them to say that. I went to the doctor and have his statement as well. I had hoped to go to the assignment when I got well, but never heard back from them to say if the offer was still on the table. Needless to say...about a month later, when I filed for unemployment, I got it for 3 weeks, but after that, Express came after me with a vengence! They have lied, manipuated and done everything humanly possible to keep me from obtaining any type of unemployment. These people are not professional and don't care a hoot about their employees. The truth will one day come out about this company. They are not the ones to work for at all! Go the other way.
