I know there are already reviews of how crooked EZ movers are but I wanted to make sure that people know not to use them. They have horrible customer service and are thieves.
I was a big dumdum by not reading any reviews about them before I hired them. This is not a mistake I will make again.
First off, like many of the reviewers on here I was quoted for less than I was charged. I understand that its hard to estimate time. I was quoted at $99/hour. When the movers arrived they told me it would be $140/hr. I got this taken care of before the move even began, but it was stressful - moving is stressful enough as is.
The foreman was agressive and pretty much made me feel stupid for wanting to read the fine print on the forms I was signing. He then told me he was going to need to wrap all my furniture, which was going to cost an extra $300. I told him I had all the coverings for my brand new couch and saved them from when it delivered the week prior. He told me he couldn't use them, then made me pay for pretty much the same extra materials. Somehow they opted to wrap really dumb stuff, but left big items like a book shelf unprotected - thus causing damage to it.
The truck itself already had items on it. This was really weird.
This is precociously how they were able to steal over $300 of my personal items. One of the movers tried to walk off with my brand new, still in the box Sony stereo receiver. I guess I was dumb thinking no one would actually do that. I called them on it, it was returned to me. The excuse was "it was behind a mattress that was on the truck already, don't know how it got there."
Sure yeah.
After the quickly exited my house (as they had another delivery) I realized a box of cables and various computer hardware were missing. Like every cable you need to connect any kind of electronics up and all your back up hard drives. Also taken was a box of checks. They also lost the legs to the stand I keep my sugar glider cage on. Who the hell loses table legs?
I digress.
I called EZ movers right away to see if my items were on the truck. They didn't see anything and told me to fill out a claim. After 2 months of speaking to their claims manager, Natalia Krotevych, and jumping through all the hoops she told me too (filling out paper work, submitting photos, receipts, loss forms, etc) I got a letter in the mail telling me my claim is invalid.
I am honestly not the type of person who complains about companies, if you look at my other reviews on here its pretty much me exclaiming my love for small businesses and Thai food. I truly mean it when I say STAY AWAY.
Also- I have already filled a claim to the BBB and I will be contacting local news, radio and newspapers if anyone else would like to join me in helping to spread the word about these criminals.

Dear Ms. Cork,
When you originally began the process of reserving your move with your sales representative Brian, you gave him a list of things you will be moving and signed via your confirmation. The total cubic feet of your belongings you gave to Brian was 352 , when the movers got there and looked over the items which you were moving it was way more than what you originally said the amount would be. The estimate went up to about 1,000 cubft, the significant amount the estimate went up could not be a mistake made by a moving consultant, it is way too much.
The reason your estimate went up is because there was more items at pickup than originally discussed.
During the move our movers are always to make sure everything is packed properly with the proper materials in order for your items not to get damaged. If any of the movers advise for a customer to wrap something up, it is to help protect their own belongings.
I can assure you that any mover working for us is not a thief and we are an honest company. After every move a truck does and is back at our location in Skokie, every truck is inspected to make sure nothing was left behind from any moves. If any of your belongings were left behind, they would have been brought back to our office.
When you open a claim there is a process and certain steps we have to follow to evaluate it. After carefully looking over all documents and needed paper work, the decision of your claim was made.
We do thousands of moves each and we have customers that enjoy our services and move with us year after year.
We regret your dissatisfaction with our services and wish you the best in your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Kelly Reed
