We went to the San Diego Home and garden show in March gave this company a $500 deposit and when we called to order the product we found out they were gone! when we went on line they were gone! and i saw this report! We knew when we ordered that we did not need the barbeque untill the summer and they said no problem. They were local on Miramar road we could stop by and order our BBQ any time and our deposit locked in the price.
I just went to the last show this past weekend and found that another company with the same brocure and the same displays! was there under a different name of Islands In the Sun and they said they have only been in buisness for a little over a year!! In the same city too Murrieta. When i aske the guy at the booth are you the same place he said we have the exact same product as Fastasy Islands!!! It alarmed us because all the displays were identicle and the frame displays too! they used the same brocure and changed the name is my suspicion.
I have contacted the DA's office and want to nail these people and prevent them from doing this. Anyone have any luck getting their $$$ back or catching these guys who rip off and set up shop again??? especially at the Home and Garden show!!

Ray Baskett has moved to Florida to rip people of as well. He ripped off a bunch of customers in Cali and ran away from his problems to Florida.
If you all want to file a class action or civil suit against him he definitely has the resources to pay you back and then some.

My name is Pete De Palma owner of Islands in the Sun.
First off, we don't have the same brochures. Our Islands have many differences also. The frame props are somewhat similar, with the exception that they are different sizes and we show three different types, rather than two. We have been in business since Feb '08. I believe Fantasy Island went out of business in July of '08. We are out of Menifee, Ca. not Murrieta, CA. There was only myself and two others in the booth at the Del Mar Home Show and we never said "we have the exact same product as Fantasy Islands".
We are a member of the better business bureau...
