I've been constantly communicating with them for some months now. I called today to make another payment and they said I was "served" last month. When I asked for more information they gave me the courthouse phone number. After going to the court to look at the Affidavit of Service; I understand the extent of their dishonesty. It said they served a man in Loveland who said he was my husband with the same last name. Not true. My ex, divorced in 1993 passed away in 2011. They served at an address I don't know.
They say to pay in full and they will drop the suit. I don't understand why they would want to file a suit when payments are coming to the firm and constant communication is made trying to work out a satisfactory settlement.
They are unethical and they hire lying process servers.
They will not give written acknowledgement of payment. They will say over the phone they received payment but nothing in writing. Shady.
