Fast Eddie's Oil change (Letavis co) will not fix what they broke! Lansing Michigan

I took my 96 Chrysler mini van in (normal working order)to Fast Eddie's for a car wash and simple routine oil change before I went out of town for a long weekend.I was pushed into other services that i did not go in for .They said I needed my Transmission flushed,so I agreed.This was on 11-21-02
The man (Mat-manager) filled my transmission too full and asked another young gentleman to "bring that machine back and take some of that out"Mat went on to his next customer.

The next morning I left for Detroit.My car started ok but was sluggish and lacked its normal power.I had just filled up so I was thinking it might have been some bad gas.The trip to Detroit was slower then usual,my car just didnt have the get up and go.When I got there,stoped and went to restart it,it started,but stalled as soon as I changed gears....I was going to a concert so 90 mins later came back and it started fine,but still sluggish.On the way home it stalled 2 times at lights and about two exits from home,started smelling badly of burning rubber.I got it home and smoke,steam and hot pink liquid were covering engine.a pinkish fliud was burned all through the engine.

I had to rent a car sat morning and called Fasst Eddie's first thing to tell them what had happened.I got nobody to answer the phone.I called first thing Monday morning and told them what had happened. I called Thompson's auto clinic and Mr Thompson came out and saw my car.He told me that whoever did the work on it,used the wrong fluid and fried my transmission.He told me to contact them and they were responsible for repairing the damage they had caused.(Mr Thompson had driven and inspected this car three days before Fast Eddies had worked on it and found it to be in great running order.)Mat the manager who had done most of the work on my car,came out to my home and inspected it.He saw all the burned on Pink fluid and the large pool of pink and dark liquid in the engine.He told me that there was a possiblity that they had grabbed the wrong nozzle and may have used the wrong fluid in my engine or maybe forgot to put a cap back on. He wanted a fluid sample to check and see what had blown up.This was Monday.I had the car towed to Thompson's on Tuesday.Mat had requested he be present when the fluid sample was taken.Mr Thompson called me on Wednesday and said nobody from Fast Eddies had shown up on Tuesday.He called them Wednesday and asked them to come get the sample anmd was told by Mat that he was too busy to go that day.The sample was not taked until Monday 12/2/-02

I called Letavis industries and asked to speak with the owner and was told I could not,to call Mat if I had any questions.I called Mat and he told me to go ahead and have it fixed and he would be in touch when the fluid sample was back.I told him I wanted something In writting that they were fixibg it,before I had the work done.He told me He would not do that.

Tuesday 12/04/02 I again called Letavis ind,and asked to speak to the owner.I was told he was not in.I informed the woman answering the phone what Mat had said and informed her how long it had been since the incident and how many conversations I had with them and Mat and nothing was done yet.The sample was not even taken for 11 days!!!I explained that I had a rental car bill for two weeks due on Friday for $340.00 and told them that they had until noon Wednesday 12/05/02 to ressolve this matter.

This morning,12/05/02 I get a call from Mat telling me that they have no intention of repairing my car because I can not prove they did anything to it.I was told(today...14 days after the incident) that I had to come in a file a formal complaint with Letavis ind.The fluid sample was not back yet but they would not be settleing with me anyway.He then told me to sue them If I wanted too.

I called Mr Thompson and told him what they said.He has had 2 mechanics look at my transmission and both believe that fast Eddie's should repair my car.Today Mr Thompson took our own sample to have evaluated.My car that was running perfectly and only taken to fast Eddie's for a routine oil change and car wash.....still sits dead with a smelly,burned up transmission covered in the bright pink fluid Fast Eddie's put in it the day before it blew up.
I only hope I am the last person whos car they destroy and dont think they have to fix.I have missed a day of work due to no transportation,have tow bills,and rental car fees,plus will need mmy transmission rebuilt.I feel Fast Eddie's are responsible to make this right and I intend to go to court.
Comsumers beware...these are uncaring..unprofessional people .
