In the past week I have received three harassing phone calls concerning my former Spiegel account, claiming no payments made since October 2003. When I received the first call on 6 January, I explained to the rather rude representative that I had received no statements for November and December (and none for January as yet).
I told her I would write a check immediately for $70.00, which I did, and I sent it out that very day. Yesterday, I received another call. I explained that the check had already been sent out, and the representative (not a rude one this time) said she would make a notation that the payment was on its way as of 6 January.
This morning I received another call just as I was leaving for work, a male this time and also a little rude. He apparently had no idea that I had talked with the other two individuals, and he seemed to imply that I was lying about having sent out the check on 6 January. He wanted me to make a payment over the phone, which sounded like a scam for more money. I explained that I was not making another payment until my check cleared.
In all of these cases, I pointed out that I had not received any statements from Card Processing since one with a closing date of 16 October 2003 and a due date of 10 November 2003. A payment was made from that statement on 25 October 2003. There have been no statements mailed to me since then.
I note from the attached web site pages that others with Card Processing have experienced the very same situation, so, it seems there is a serious problem on your end, and you need to tighten things up.
I have always paid my bills on time, and there were no problems when Spiegel was handling the account directly. If and when I get a statement of my account from your office, I shall certainly make the payment promptly, as I always have.
