Fidelity Information Corporation is unethical and ignores federal laws with regards to collection of debts and reporting of information to credit bureaus. They find loopholes and extort, overcharge and intimidate consumers. Their vicious practices can ruin lives because a credit report affects one in acquiring housing, finding employment. They knowing provide the national credit reporting agencies with outdated and incorrect data--they make it difficult for consumers to correct false information by having them go through complicated processes when correcting/ updating is a click away. Complain about them and they will retaliate and find obscure methods to destroy a consumer. They are entrenched in the business of background checks, employment screening and are basically unregulated and have the unbounded power to wreck havoc on someone's life. It is horrible that an entity can arbitrarily assess fees, decide that they are not going to comply with federal regulations and get away with it. To fight them you need an experienced lawyer. The CEO Jeff Cronrod has been featured as a crusader for landlords but his company crucifies tenants and the everyday person, destroys lives without investigating the whole picture. This random and mean-spirited invasion of lives is akin to slander, nasty gossip and the consumer has little recourse.

Fidelity Information Corperation reports FAKE DEBTS

To reply to your statement that Fidelity Information Corporation is ethical is a big fat lie. I happen to know this company not only reports fake debts but will report complaints as if they are a debt. The Fidelity Information corporation sent me a letter showing nothing but complaints from an individual and nothing legally binding as a contract between me and the person who made the false report.
This shows the company is Unethical and reports false information as if it is a debt when its only complaints instead of a legally binding contract between you and the original supposed creditor who falsly claims to be a creditor and makes accusations in letter form and creates a receipt with your name on it and social security number but does NOT show any signature from the one being reported as if we agreed to the receipt when we never agreed to such a con job.
They continue reporting this false debt too to the credit bureau and I happen to know now they are under investigation by the FTC and my lawyers. They will not only remove that false report but will pay me a 1000. bucks and pay my court costs. They messed with the wrong one. I can prove everything i have reported as true and complete. And Dave Torrence is correct when he reported Fidelity Information Corporation as unethical.
They should not only be fined but put in jail for falsely reporting credit information and deliberately reporting complaints as if they were a real debt. That is falsifying legal documents and is a felony. I will be glad to press formal charges against them. Anyone up for a class action suit? I am sure there is some here that will be happy to join a class action suit against Fidelity Information Corporation.

The complaints are accurate

I'm afraid that I must agree with the initial posting on this company, if only regarding the arrogance, lack of cooperation, and yes, I would say unethical conduct of it's employees.
My own initial problem was more with Experian than FIC, since it was their clerical screw-up that caused the problem-- they apparently confused my name/address with another person in the same city who has a similar name & address; causing an "account" with FIC to suddenly appear on my credit report and then compounded this by filing a "fraud dispute" rather than a "mixed identity dispute" (their terms) when I wrote them to complain.
The problem I've got with FIC is their total lack of cooperation in straightening out the issue! Not only did they not provide any clarifying information to Experian other than "confirming" my name and address (which they now had on file thanks to my initial call to them), but the attitude of EVERY person from their company that I've dealt with has been exceedingly rude, dismissive, uncooperative, lazy, and frankly, flat-out arrogant.
Their "solution" to any query is simply that the caller must send in an extensive dispute, in writing, to them requiring a lot of VERY personal information, including SS#, etc. Even if you don't have (or want) an account with them, they insist on getting as much about you as possible, and won't even talk to you otherwise. Any attempt to escalate to a supervisor, request further information, explain the situation, etc., is met with a complete stone wall and indeed they won't even let you complete a sentence, opting instead to "take control" of the call by rudely cutting you off and repeating the same crap, over and over.
Only one of the three people I dealt with would even give me their name, let alone any real assistance. Their whole purpose, it seems, is merely to intimidate callers, dismiss and divert any complaints or problems, and convince a caller that it is completely up to them to "prove" the validity of their case, rather than acknowledging any responsibility whatsoever for FIC to be accurate, fair, or even polite.
This is completely consistent with the descriptions given by other complainers on this site, and no amount of copy/pasted "false allegations made" statements and fake "updates" by FIC drones will change this.
All I can say is thank God I don't have to do any real business with these creeps! If you have ANY choice in the matter at all-- DON'T DEAL WITH THEM. There have got to be better, more legitimate alternatives out there, somewhere.
