On Sunday July 5th, went to Fiesta, with a friend to pick a birthday cake for a little girl, who turned 4 yrs old. When after everyone had eaten, we decided to cut the cake.

There were about 15 - 20 people at the party. When we took the top off the cake, we saw a maggots, twirling on top of the cake. We were shocked and decided to cut the cake to see the middle. Inside the cake, were full of maggots! We had ordered the cake the day before the party and picked it up one hour before the party. The cake was placed inside the fridge until it was time to cut.

We took pictures of the cake with the maggots, and filmed it with a camcorder. Then we went back to Fiesta, to talk to the manager. The lady in the bakery was acting as if it was no big deal. She even asked "Do you want another cake." The manager seems as though he was really sorry. But that didn't do anything for a party that ruined. The kids was very upset, after seeing maggots in the cake. Many of them said that they wouldn't cake, anymore. I was so mad and embarrassed.

Take the video to the health department and the news media.  I never shop there anymore after purchasing steaks that spoiled in two days and they refused to take it back.

Cannot be true

At 45 degrees F, insects go into a state of suspended animation. They could not have possibly been on and in that cake and then been active so soon after coming out of your refrigerator. Physically impossible. And, as the above poster stated, birthday cake is NOT the food of choice for maggots.....get real !!!!!!! Your story is so full of inaccuracies, it's pathetic !!!!

You need an education

AUTHOR: De-bunking Stupidity - (U.S.A.)

Maggots are laid by flies in dead/rotting meat. Maggots would NEVER be found in a cake unless you put them in there or someone else did.

You would have noticed the maggots if they were in the cake when you brought it, therefore they were not placed in there by the cake shop.

Please get an education and stop blaming the incorrect persons
