First Data Global Leasing First Data Merchant Serivces Non canceable lease for at least 3.6 years from today Florida, Internet

I took a 2 yr lease out with First Data in july 2007. I cancelled it in October 2009. Spoke to a representative about returning the equipment.  Gave me address and I returned the equipment.  Now got letter demanding hundreds of pounds (I am based in UK).When I refused to pay got very hostile & threatening phone call stating that my lease does not end until 2012 and then they will decide if I can cancel it or haveto carry on paying for another 18 months. How can I be forced to pay for leasing equipment that they have in their possession.  Also how can a 2 year lease ( i never signed another one) turn into a 5 year lease?  They are now threatening to take me to Court. I am informing our Trading Standards office to see if they can help but would appreciate any help from anyone anywhere to fight this greedy, nasty and threatening company.  Surely it is against any country's law to demand payment for services not being received and equipment already returned to them.  I am sure someone in America has managed to sue them.  This is the second American company who has tried to rip me off and I am sorry for all the decent Companies in America but I absolutely refuse to deal with an American company ever again.
