I have bad credit and in an attempt to correct that I applied for and received 2 Mastercards.  I recommend Barclaycard Mastercard to all who are trying to rebuild their credit. You get a $250.00 credit limit and this company is legit. The other First Premier Bank mastercard is a Giant rip-off and a scam! First you pay $100.00 just to apply, then you are approved and on your first statement you pay the yearly fee of $75.00 PLUS $4.95 internet fee. I paid these fees immediately to get my balance to zero. I then made purchases in the amount of $200.00 and paid that 2 weeks before it was due. It was processed and that was 3 weeks ago. Thinking I had a $300.00 credit limit I was surprised to find they hold your payment for 20 days! This means that I have available less than $100.00 in credit. Simple ridiculous! This company gives you basically 10 days to have your full line of credit.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO REBUILD YOUR CREDIT USE BARCLAYCARD MASTERCARD. PREMIER BANK IS A RIPOFF AND FRAUD, STAY AWAY FROM THEM IT IS NOT WORTH ALL THE MONEY THAT YOU PAY BEFORE EVEN USING THE CARD!

Thank You Glenn

Thank you Glenn. I am going online to locate this company Barclay Master card company and see if I can apply.  I just want consumers to know I do understand.  We as tax payers, have bail the banks out and the car manufactoring companies too, not to mention corporate rip-off that made all of us a victims that cause this fell ecomony to fall into a financial rutt.  If we are considered HIGH RISK, then what are they called? Making interest payments affordable to ALL, so low and reasonable payments can be easily made and loans paid off without fear of default.

Making a profit off of high interest rate and FEES on the misfortunate of others is to me a form of Greed, and, an ill regard for those of US who are struggling to survive in this economy.  It didn't matter when they gave themselves credit-lines/loans etc... beyond what they could pay back. [investment risk takers], They have profited off of these scams [that is what they should be called], and now want US, the consumer to pay for it when it is discovered and has hurt the economy.  Profiting off of the needy and misfortunate is to me a SCAM.  But that is Capitalism for you.

I am so glad that I went online to ripoff report and put in a search for First Premier Bank and found that there are complaints concerning their offers for master card credit cards.  I just gotten an application in the mail today for a $300 limit, pay a one time $95.00 processing fee, $75 annually, monthly service fees of $35 at a APR of 36%.  Are they CRAZY?  I thought it strange that I had received one when my credit rating is low.  No one should pay that kind of monies to obtain a credit card to help to reestablish credit in this economy.

I thought it was a law for funds to be processed within 24 to 72 hours, not 10 days.  I live in Ohio and such a law I am sure was passed a few years ago.  They are preying on poor creditworthly consumers with these high, high fees to open up an account.  I read the agreement and so decided that I refuse to pay that amount of money and to run the risk of fee happy company(s) like them wanting to charge you if you make just one minor mistake, just a minor one and Oops, here comes the fees for which they profit from it and you are back into the same credit rutt again.

It is not worth it and find some other reputable company to apply for a credit card and read the agreement and stick to it.  I don't care what the credit disclosure says. NO ONE should be preyed upon to pay such high fees of any kind to try and boost this economy and reestablish credit again. It is something wrong with capitalism.  it is called Greed! it is the signs of the time. Beware my consumer friends be vigilant and don't become a victim of their scams because you are under presser, in need and weak.  That is how they get us. Don't fall for it.

In your rebuttal you say it was a bad idea to charge $200.00 on my new card! WHY? I paid the account in full 2 weeks before it was due. The payment cleared my bank account in 2 days, YET they will not give me credit for it, telling me it takes 20 days to clear! As for the terms I did read it and paid the fee's due......As I stated I paid the $75.00 and the INTERNET FEE of $4.95....AN INTERNET FEE< REALLY?
AS I stated this bank is a ripoff and if you want to rebuild your credit use Barclaybank Mastercard which does NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GOOD PEOPLE WITHOUT ALL OF THESE RIDICULOUS FEE"S!
IF THIS UNDERHANDED BANK MAKES YOU WAIT 20 DAYS TO PROCESS A PAYMENT, THAT LEAVES YOU 10 Days to have your full credit amount of $300.00.
UNDERSTAND GENIUS?

First Premier Bank Credit Card

This is a response to your article above.  You obviously didn't read the Terms & Conditions BEFORE you accepted the agreement which clearly states in full detail,  the 36% interest rate,  the $95.00 account Start-up fee,  and also the $75.00 monthly account maintenance fee.  First Premier Bank clearly states on their Terms & Conditions that their customers will be charged $95.00 in order for the their account to be activated.  I do believe that you didn't read the fine print of the Terms & Conditions and just scrolled down to click the "agree" icon.  First Premier Bank's main customer base are people with horrible credit scores who want to rebuild their credit history.  They are not out to rip people off.  People with bad credit are looked at by almost all banks as VERY HIGH RISK customers which is why they won't extend credit to anyone with certain credit scores or histories.  You also stated that you charged $200.00 on the card when you recieved it.  BAD IDEA!  I thought the point of you applying for a credit card in the first place was to rebuild your credit.  I have the First Premier GOLD credit card and I paid all the fees and I've already had the account for four months without any problems.  Its expensive if you overspend and max out your card but If you don't spend more than 25% of your credit limit,  you should be fine.  I only spend what I can afford to pay back.
