I came to Livonia, Michigan to visit my mom this summer. I called Fitness 19 @37290 Five Mile Rd. Livonia, Michigan 48154 on June 11th. I talked to Reid about going to the gym to work out while I was here. I asked about taking my daughter with me who needs to lose weight. He told me it would be $17.00 only for a month to month. I asked what equipment he had and was happy about the deal. I showed up on June 12th at 5:30pm to find out that Reid had left for the day. I met with Mark who tried to snow me over with making me pay a huge amount. I told him what Reid had told me about this deal. He finally agreed for one person of $17.00, but needed two months now. He told me that my daughter would be $12.00, but with a membership fee of $29.00 to lock in the membership rate on the second person. I told Mark I would do it, but would talk to Reid on Monday to refund the $29.00 of a second person to lock in membership if we were ONLY here for a month or two. He told me that if Reid told me, he would refund it, okay. I decided on June 13th, there was too much to do that I would never make it worth the money to come in for a work out, I needed to go back to get the refund. I look over the whole contract on the back side of the customer's copy (yellow) and it said, FULL REFUND IF DONE IN THREE DAYS. I was there in the afternoon of June 14th. I was told that, "being an EMT I should know how important health is to everyone". I told Mark that I was TOO BUSY to come up there and I WANTED A REFUND. He tried to get me to "FREEZE" my account until I could make the time or make the correct decision to come to Fitness 19 in Livonia, Michigan. I told Mark that if he only knew what I was about to do while I was here, he would agree I don't have the time to come to the gym. I told Mark enough is enough I WANT A REFUND!! I told him I did it within the time period for a 100% refund. I signed the yellow small paper with the information to void the contract. (faxed to you from Office Depot @29230 Plymouth Rd. Livonia, Michigan 48150. I asked Mark and Reid when I would get my refund before I left that day. I was told I would be given a call to get an address to send the refund. I called two days later, June 15th and was told a story of the person needing to talk to is out right now. I called on June 15th later in the evening to be told it would take ten days before I would receive any kind of refund. I called back again, June 24th and was told that the refund of $87.00 was already mailed out to me. (they ALWAYS refuse to tell you his name). I called back again, June 26th and was told me the check was already sent out to me. I asked to talk with the manager and was told he was selling someone a contract and would call back (NEVER DID). I called back again, July 2nd and was told the manager was busy with someone and he would call me back. The young lady told me that she understood and since I had cancelled my membership within the three day period, Fitness 19 needs to follow through on their end of the deal. I called back again, July 2nd later that day and was told he's out for 25 minutes. I called back again, July 2nd before 5:00pm that day to be told he left a long time ago. I called back again, July 6th and was told he me he will call me if the check isn't out and won't call me if the check is out. So I called the Michigan State Attorney General's Office in Lansing, Michigan for help on what to do to get them to give me back my $87.00 refund. I talked with a nice young lady who after I mentioned "Fitness 19" told me to go online and file a complaint and fax my receipt of cancelled membership off ASAP
