Flemings Ultimate Garage Total Misrepresentation of the Vehicle Purchased Rockville, Maryland

Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I purchased a 1987 Olds Cutlass Supreme 442 from Flemings Ultimate Garage.  Prior to purchasing the vehicle, I spoke to the salesman, John O'Neill, and asked him to send several photos and I also asked him about the condition of the car, including whether or not the radio worked, all of the gauges, power equipment, etc.  I asked several times because I live in Huntington Beach, California and the dealership is located in Rockville, Maryland; therefore, it was difficult for me to physically inspect the car.  I have purchased vehicles over the years from both private and public sellers and this is the first time in which I was actually lied to.

John O'Neill put my apprehension to rest when he informed me that Fleming's Ultimate Garage has their own internal Quality Assurance Checklist that they fill out prior to the vehicle leaving their business and that the owner even test drives and inspects the vehicles as well.  John left me with a feeling of assurance and that the car was just as it was described to me over the phone.

Once the vehicle made it's way out to Huntington Beach and was backed out of the semi-trailer, I knew something was amiss because the driver nor I could find the headlight switch (it was at night when it arrived) and we soon realized that we could not find the switch because the dash board lights did not work.  In any event, I took possession and as I am driving down the freeway, I notice that the tachometer was runing VERY high so I was not sure if the transmission had a problem or the tach was just not working correctly.

The next day I took the car to my local mechanic to have the car smogged and to my amazement, after 3 tries, my mechanic realized that the car needed an EGR Valve, a new Catalytic Converter not to mention a rebuilt tachometer and light bulbs in the dash.  When the light bulbs were installed, the check engine light came on.  Had the lights worked in the dash from the get go, the dealership would have known there was a problem as the check engine light would have been illuminated.  My mechanic also informed me that the radio didn't work and that it was from a junk yard as there was yellow writing on the side (I guess that is a tell tale sign).  Basically, this whole nightmare cost me an additional $2,000.00 on a car that was supposed to have gone through a thorough inspection.  How the hell can you miss dashboard lights not working, the radio not working, tachometer not working, cruise control not working, and on and on?????

This company should be avoided like the plague.  They represent the typical jokes going around about used car salesmen.

I have personaly seen Ferrari's fords, chevy's etc at Rockville body shops being bondo'd . Take a look at the Ferrari sitting on the lot now. I saw that thing as well as some other rusted cars being made just to look pretty at other places and all you need to do is ask why are they having cheap repairs done ?

I asked about a car several years ago and owner who was extremly self absorved mentioned "I couldn't afford it"  Glad he thought so, or I'd be one of thousands of the Ultimate garbage's victims. Say no to "typical auto sales people"
