Nikki Jackson of flip N Vintage is a Crook and ran off with our money and personal items she was to re finish for us. We orignaly contracted her dec 23 2017 to do kitchen and bathroom cabinets and gave her $ 9,000.00 she deposited in personal account, she assured us she was using the money to start purchasing material for the cabinets, beginning of the year we decided to give her a shot and remodeling and contracted her to do the full remodel of $ 60,000.00, she started demo on 1/9/2018 and before demo was complete she started screaming she needed the second $ 9,000.00 to purchase material and per her guys even though the demo Budget was roughly $ 1,500.00

We gave her the second check of $ 9,000.00on 1/12 /2018 she used to open her Business account, and never to our knowledge transferred our original 9K to the business account which we suspect she used it for he personal use. including paying for her divorce and remodeling her house with our money

She promised on numerous of occasins to order tankless water heaters ad A/C which was never ordered, along with cabinets, tile or counter tops were never ordered but she was paid for it

She contracted David Bravo with Gator Disaster Relief to do the plumbing, A/C and custom cabinets ( Google David Bravo with Bates Energy lawsuit , along Stan bates of Bates Energy yes the same people )

from 1/12 through 1/26 we were kept being promised things were ordered and we kept giving them draws since they would start different things but never finish them. The plumber for David Bravo busted out a hole in our slab at our grade beam and possibly damaged the beam and left it open for a week that eventually casued mold to form everywhere and upstairs we had to replace.

We eventually gave her $ 39,000.00 Dolllars of a $ 63,000.00 remodel and evenually had to fire her to incomeptance and mis appropiation of the funds we provided to her for our remodel i can go on and on but it is not enough time or space to write everything she did wrong, just know that claim she is done with items that are not done to get more money, she sends people in to half a*s do things to get more money. she takes what ever profits she thinks she will make up front and hope she has the funds in the end to finish.

the plumbing repair alone ti fix the mess she created is $ 7,400.00, plus another $ 2,500.00 for tankless heaters sheetrock tape and float and Trim is $ 10,000.00 , cabinets and counter tops are $ 18,000.00, flooring is $ 8,000.00 tile n showers and kitch backslash is $ 6,000.00  shower doors $ 4,000.00, A/C is $ 4,000.00, painting $ 6,000.00    we already paid her $ 40,000.00  and will be spending another $ 69,000.00 to get it finished

here are youtube videos of how she left our house after receing almost $ 40,000.00 of a $ 63,000.00 the only thing she acytually did was demo and install tongue and groove sub floor. also on the video you see a room with new studs and no sheetrock, she did not build that room, we had a framer do that part

Rebuttal to Follow Up Claims since Deposition

AUTHOR: Nikki - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 23, 2018

If anyone has questions or concerns about my company, the legitamacy of it, or the "claims" made by these customers clearly looking for FREE remodeling services on their home feel free to look up records of lawsuit (there are none), verify my company's location (I did not "run to San Diego or Arizona") and contact any of my other customers who have been completely satisfied with the work completed. I closed down my social media for a period of time because my ex-husband was using it to harrass me and try to destroy my professional reputation. I did not know the last names of the day workers hired by my sub-contractor but knew my sub contractors.  I held their completely refinished furniture pieces until we came to a resolution when we mutually decided to part ways. I agreed to give them their refinished furniture to end the madness and close the argument. Their "version" is not even close to accurate and they have NO documentation to back it up.  It's ranting and nonsense. Videos show a house post demo and partially framed while remodeling was just beginning. Funny they didn't show the EXTENSIVE replubming for their 8 nozzle shower with all new PEC's line, or the shiplap, framing or subfloor work that was completed.  They only show on their video the pieces of a partially started remodel that would tell their "version" of a "story". It is not uncommon for a general contractor to not know the last names of day workers hired by a sub contractor. Please feel free to check the REPUTABLE resources publicly available and if you would like further information feel free to contact me directly. I have plenty of happy customers to attest to my work and capabilities....and if anyone was trying to rip off someone it was these people wanting a complete home remodel for nothing!

REbuttal

AUTHOR: James - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 02, 2018

I waited till well after our deposition to respond. It is Nikki Jackson is a pathological liar and a professional Victim who will never take responsibility for her own actions and the messes she personally creates. since my filing Nikki has deleted her Business FB page and he personal page. During our deposition it was revealed she had no paperwork for any of the subs working on our house even though we repeatedly told he she needed to keep records. she did not have any Contracts, REceipts, proposals, invoices on anything her Subs were doing, one instance she did not even know the last name of one of her subs doing the sheetrock work. she provided of roughly 9K in disbursements that was proven and no supposed cash payments with no back up.

in her Reubuttal she claimed that we owed her more money and she was holding our personal items hostage, well our attorney retty much destroyed her and made her bring the items back to us before we filed theft charges on her. I am doing this to make sure she does not do this to anyone else. i have since heard she is fleeing to San Diego or possibly Arizona where her parents live to escape the Chaos she created and run from it. If you read this just know you could have avoided this by being a honest person and coming clean about what you did with the money. this is not going away soon stated before, the deposition was only the begining since what you provided on your spreadsheet is not accurate. in the end we will end up with a judgement against you every dime we paid you plus the added difference we had to pay to fix the mess you created and all attorney fees so you can bet it will reach up their well into 60 to 70K

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Again...completely unfactual information and blatant lies...

AUTHOR: Nikki - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 17, 2018

As of my crews last day on the jobsite (Monday, February 12, 2018) 50% of the agreed upon work outlined in the scope of work, budget and contract was complete. Progress on the scope was provided to the owner and documented in an excel spreadsheet for them to realize how much work had been done in demo, subfloor repair, level and installation, complete interior re-plumbing, framing, sheetrock and tongue and groove installation. There was no misrepresentation of progress.

The reports example of cabinets being in production on or about January 11, 2018 does not have merit since the contract was not signed until after this date. The deposit that was initially paid back in December was distributed to sub-contractors with the original intention of being used as a deposit on cabinets.  However, back in December when that deposit was paid Flip N Vintage was only contracted to complete kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and closet design/build out. After Christmas break the Calhoun’s came to Flip N Vintage Designs and requested a bid for the entire interior remodel. At that time the funds distributed to my sub-contractor for cabinets were held until further instruction.  Once the contract was signed on January 12, 2018 my subcontractor was instructed to allocate those funds to more immediate expenses such as labor, plumbing, sub-floor repairs, materials and delivery fees. This was understood by the Calhoun’s due to the order in which remodel activities needed to take place.

In addition to the expanded scope and need to re-allocate money to more immediate needs on the complete remodel agreement, cabinets were delayed for construction due to multiple changes being requested by the owner. For example the return air opening over the refrigerator creating the need to design a “false cabinet” over the refrigerator that was not in the original drawings provided, the kitchen wall being moved back too far by Mr. Calhoun’s framers, the deviation from the provided drawings to include a pantry, counter space between pantry and stove, and then two weeks later to add a beverage cooler in the plans was also a large contributing factor to the cabinet completion timeline delays.

My team was instructed by the owners to hold off on any renovation work to be done in the downstairs bathroom because they did not want the inspector to become aware of changes being made downstairs. I have multiple emails and text messages confirming this request. The incomplete sheetrock in the downstairs ceiling was due to gas line work that needed to be done but could not be completed at the owners request. I explained I could not have my plumber complete the gas line work until he let us demo downstairs because the gas line came in behind the tub.  He confirmed he did not want any work being done because he did not want the inspector to find out what he was doing downstairs. While Mr. Calhoun pulled the plumbing and electrical permits, he did not pull permits for plumbing work being done downstairs and knew if the inspector became aware of the structural, plumbing and electrical improvement being made, they would be forced to pull permits and remove the downstairs living area. In addition to the requested delay from the owner to “hide” from their inspector, our plumber uncovered several problems with the existing plumbing and had a much larger scope of work to complete to bring the home’s plumbing up to code. This can be proven by the amended budget showing an additional $2,400 for discoverable plumbing work.

The entire project suffered delay after delay from the owners request to stay at the residence in the middle of demo, days of work where electricity was cut off while my workers were on site causing a loss of production, excessive change requests made by the owners, and days lost due to freezing weather that prohibited access to roads. I was still receiving change requests as late as February 12, 2018. Despite the above delays, and progress payments not reaching 50% of the agreed budget until January 31, 2018, my team was at 50% completion by February 12, 2018. The project was on track for final walk through on March 6, 2018 as previously agreed upon.

Regarding their claim of my misuse of their funds, that is a complete lie. Funds were distributed for the first 50% of the work (demo, labor, materials, plumbing, subfloor, sheetrock, tongue and groove, framing, delivery fees, etc.). My contract clearly states that the “Owner is responsible for obtaining all financing that is or may be necessary to fund the work specified in this Contract”. At absolutely no time was it agreed upon that Flip N Vintage Designs would finance any portion of this project. This type of financing requires accrual of interest, and additional financing agreements which were not discussed (or included) in our agreement. On January 30, 2018 I stated exactly this concern when I told the owner I needed to be at 50% of the budget by the end of the week or all work would stop because I would not finance the project.

I've provided the owner a scope of work to further solidify the tasks completed at the date our agreement was terminated. In addition, I provided the owner with an invoice for services provided that have not been paid to date. The tile, tankless water heaters, A/C unit for downstairs, and cabinets were all part of the final 50% of funding as “finish” work for completion. The first 50% was allocated to plumbing, demolition, framing, labor, sub-floor repairs, tongue and groove, sheetrock installation/repair and texturing. Related expenses includes labor, materials, restocking fees, all applicable taxes and a 20% contractors fee for overhead and profit on work. The items they claim were taken and not returned were pieces Flip N Vintage refinished and began restoration of. The owners were sent notice that they are ready for delivery but will not be returned until the price agreed upon for the work is paid in full.

I have provided pictures of the work that was completed by my team and of the work I do.  I appreciate the opportunity to dispute this false claim and welcome anyone with questions to contact me directly.
