Florida Cracker Plumbing Brent Phillips, FCP FLORIDA CRACKER PLUMBING ARE CROOKS ALL, Florida

First, before I get started I want to state that I am an ex employee of Florida Cracker Plumbing (FCP). I am sure Mr Brent Phillips will create a rebuttal stating I am a disgruntled employee and I guess I am slightly but I will assure all readers that what I have written is 100% fact. I will provide copies of e-mails, reports filed by Florida Cracker Plumbing with Division of Corporations and other information.


I have read all the reports filed, the first one was by honest plumber, the 2nd was by Harry Homeowner and the 3rd was by a lady called Nancy, I have also read the rebuttals written by Mr Phillips (FCP).
I want to state up front that I do not know any of the authors with the exception of Brent Phillips and I can NOT say with 100% surety that the reports are real or embellished but I can say with 100% surety that the reports filed offer information that is 100% real and that leads me to believe that they are real, true and accurate.

In Harry homeowner's report he states that the technician arrived in a station wagon, I know that the employees use their own vehicles as work vans, unfortunately many of the employees didnt have work vans and I met 2 employees that used station wagons as their work vans, I also saw a minivan and there were a few actual vans all of which displayed a 2' x 2' magnetic sign boasting the name Florida Cracker Plumbing.

Harry Homeowner goes on to say that the technician explained he was paid by commission and the more he charged the more he was paid and that is FACT!. All Technicians are paid on commission, because we used our own vehicles and insurance which was never verified we are paid 33% of sales. As for the conversation between the technician and owner Brent Phillips. I have been told personally by Brent Phillips that the home warranty companies are where the big money is. The home warranty companies do not check what we are doing for example on the surface FCP charges a very low rate to the home warranty companies, water heaters are supposed to be installed at $485.00 but Brent told me every time to claim that the job required a 2nd technician thus raising the water heater install price to $1000 to $1250.00, at least that is what he had me do in every heater I installed (6 or 7 heaters)

Brent further jokes by stating " I'm quite sure I was cackling and rubbing my hands together while stroking my pointy beard". Brent loves to use words that offer some type of misdirection  but unfortunately for Mr. Phillips the jobs I just described were jobs that were invoiced thus creating a paper trail. Now I know Mr Phillips will come back and try to create a level of plausible deny ability but really how can he?. Any good owner has to review the invoices.

I have read reports on here from a couple honorable companies, I say honorable because the responses were genuine. The companies were regretful to find out a consumer had a bad experience with their company and truly went out of their way to rectify the problems.
Now, lets look at Mr Phillips response, he calls Nancy an idiot, he calls another a coward and finally he calls Harry a troll. Weather Mr Phillips believed these were real customers or not who wants to do business with an owner that solves his company problems like a 10 year old would?.

I think a better response would have been apologizing and offering a solution, ask the homeowners to contact your office so you can try and right a wrong, at least this way you can find out if these people are real.

Further in Mr Phillips response, Mr phillips states that he has been in business for over 8 years and has thousands of happy customers. This is another huge lie, Maybe Mr phillips has been in business 8 years if you were to combine all the companies he has had to shut down. Again please do not take my word for it, go to the fl div of corporation sun biz . org and research Florida Cracker Plumbing (FCP) and you will see that it has only been here for a year and a half. Now type in Florida commercial Plumbing also (FCP) and you will see the companies closing date coincides with the opening of the New FCP, the old company Mr Phillips had in his dads name. Prior to the FCP name Brent had 3 other companies that all got shut down.

As I stated in the beginning, I am an ex employee and so Mr Phillips does not come back and call me a coward for not listing my name, my name is Scott and I am sure that Mr Phillips will come back with some long winded response because people like Mr Phillips never seem to find fault in themselves, it is always the other persons fault.

Ok, I wanted to explain a little history as to how I became a slightly disgruntled employee. I read the first written complaint written by honest plumber and honest plumber stated that Brent Phillips never pays his employees their last paycheck. I went over 2 months trying to get my last paycheck, granted I was provided 3 magnetic signs, a 15 pack set of invoices, and 4 blue Florida cracker T- shirts and I failed to turn in the T-Shirts, I never imagined anyone would want these shirts back, they were faded, stained and actually nothing more than rags but none the less he wanted them back. I shipped the shirts back fed ex to his rental home/office and I still never received my final check. I called, I sent e-mails and I text Sandra (Brent Phillips GF/ office manager) I was pacified, she told me I am working on it as we speak and I would thank her, 2 days later I got the same story and she got the same response, 2 days later she happen to have a sick sister and again I was understanding. After a few more days my recovery attempts got a little more aggressive, I informed FCP that I didnt want this to get ugly but if forced I would involve a 3rd party and again my text went by un-answered. I finally had to go to the Florida Labor board in Ft Myers Florida, while I was there I was informed of other complaints. The agent called Sandra while I was in the office and low and behold I received my final paycheck 2 days later albeit it was $300.00 short but I figured they obviously needed it more than I. What I found to be terribly odd is that in an e-mail sent to me from Mr Phillips he stated how he was not worried that the Florida Labor board contacted him, he further stated that he has only had a handful of complaints and he has a good rapport with the Florida Department of labor. WOW!!!! I know companies that have been in business for over 40 years and have never had a single dealing with the labor board but FCP in their entire year and a half life span has had a handful and has developed a good rapport, that statement spoke volumes.

I was also owed a reimbursement check for $2800 and change that I have yet to receive and will have to file a civil suit in circuit court here in Lee County Florida. It is the policy of FCP to reimburse any parts that exceeded $15.00, I owned my own company for over 17 years and unfortunately the economy took it's toll on us but I was fortunate, I had several trucks, over a 1/4 million in special equipment and a ton of parts that I supplied to FCP. Mr Phillips refused to reimburse me for a single part provided, he stated that he needed receipts for the parts yet he knew that I already owned these parts, this is just another example as to how sneaky this man is. The answer is simple Mr Phillips, if I installed 6 garbage disposals and you never supplied a single disposal where did they come from? The only part I didn't supply was water heaters. I have copies of all our invoices with the customers names and phone numbers, I have copies of all my e-mails corresponding with Mr Phillips from the beginning of my employment and I have downloaded all my texts.

Below is copies of a few e-mails I have received regarding Brent Phillips and Florida Cracker Plumbing, I again ask you to research them your self, do NOT take my word or that of Mr Phillips or his other persona Ramjet.

An E-mail from business Boston Ale in Ft Myers FL

Hello Brent,
 
After I contacted you about our plumbing issues, at the advice of my
attorney I hired another plumbing company.  After my attorney and
I reviewed your e-mails to George and complaints against your company he advised
me to hire another company.  For the record you were not hired by my company nor
did my company add you to the subcontractor form of the City of Fort Myers as
you stated in e-mails to George.  The City of Fort Myers has issued a permit for
all work that is being conducted by licensed companies approved by my general
contractor.
 
I thank you for attempting to assist me and being professional, but I
recall you did not want George to do any plumbing work at my business.  You
stated you wanted to send another plumber to my business, however I found it
ironic you stated in an e-mail for George to do the plumbing work?  First you
agreed that George could do the work, but to send the money to you.  Then you
stated to have someone else complete it.  Then you stated if I used George for
my plumbing needs you would take me to court and you would get your $1000 one
way or another.  I did feel threatend when you told me this and rushed to allow
you to do the plumbing again without a signed contract.  You were very adamant
that George not do any work at my business stating words that I don't want to
repeat here and that you were filing complaints to multiple agencies. 
 
It seems from the beginning there were problems with the fees for supplies,
possible low proposal, no contract - including no signature on the subcontractor
form, because the job has now cost me $500 over the proposal of $2200. You
stated that George is robbing me, however receipts have been reviewed to show
the cost of supplies greatly superseded what you paid, including many man hours
over what normally it would take according to another plumbing companies
proposal. 
 
At this point, I do not intend to take this any further, however I will not
tolerate any threats or continued phone calls - messages and consider a lesson
learned.  I understand that there are many issues with you and George, however
my attorney requested that I do not get involved unless necessary.  After
reading other e-mail complaints from previous employee about non - payment and
other conflicts, I hope they are not true, because I know how hard plumbers like
George work to earn a living to support his family.  If work was conducted I
would hope you would pay your employees, the internet could be a companies worse
night mare and not to excuse having to hire an attorney.
 
I hope all these issues are resoved and wish both you and George
luck!

yes I read so many problems with them and was told that they were looking at
yanking his lic.

Hi,
just had them do some work and while I checked out their license to
practice plumbing, I didn't look at the reviews online.....BIG MISTAKE!!
 
They totally ripped me off...$150.00 for a washer and left the shower knobs
loose and spinning and pieces totally left off the kitchen faucet.
 
I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company and also going to file
complaints with the BBB as well as other sites that rate services. If you are
interested, I can give you the links to these sites so you can file complaints
as well. The owner was supposed to call me back 4 days ago and I'm still
waiting. If I don;t hear back by the end of today, I'm starting with my
actions.
